Greetings,

Can someone define and compare the differences between Basal Acid Secretion and Stimulated Acid Secretion in the stomach? Apparently these are two different things are are controlled by different methods as well. For example, I have been told for controlling acid caused by food ingestion Proton Pump Inhibitors work best. And for controlling acid for non food related issues one needs to use a H2 product such as Zantac etc. Any help MUCH appreciated.
