has anybody tried them both and does lexapro have the same anti-OCD effects as prozac. I cant find any studies on lexapro and OCd.

Sexually prozac has such a super long half life that its hard to have any sexual function even if you stop for a few days.

Lexapro half life is only 24 hours so you could get normal function after a day or so.
I am currently on 40 mg of prozac and thinking of trying lexarpo due to its shorter half life.

I've taken both Lexapro and Prozac (and Zoloft) for my OCD. Lexapro absolutely sucked for me. It actually made my OCD worse, and I just felt so anxious all of the time. I just stopped Prozac awhile back because it wasn't really doing anything for my OCD, and all it did was make me so freakin' tired that I couldn't function, so I got permission from my PCP to wean off of it. Zoloft did help my OCD when I first started taking it, but that was only because I needed something, but really, SSRI's never did do much for my OCD. In fact, I had two breakdowns where I was incapacitated while I was taking SSRI's: one with Zoloft and one with Lexapro. Lexapro is used for OCD because it, too, is an SSRI like Prozac, but I don't actually know if it's been clinically proven by the FDA that it helps obsessions and compulsions; Prozac has. As for the sexual side effects, I can't help you there. I'm a devoted virgin until marriage, personal beliefs that are only heightened by my OCD scrupulosity/morality issues.

after doing a massive internet search I found ZERO aobut lexapro and OCd in terms of FDA scientific studies like double blind trial tests and so forth. Seems lexapro is ireally geared towards depression more but since its an SSRI it may work for OCD. Also I have read from alot of people complaining about the sexual side effects of Lexapro so that was another negative to read. Looks like I am stuck on prozac.
I hope I get actual feedback here from users.
