View Full Version : I'm not sure if this is going to make any sense

Ever since I was a kid ( I'm 21 now ), I've had this reoccouring...I guess episode is the correct word. I feel like I'm moving faster than everything around me. I know that sounds really weird, but thats the only way I know how to describe it. Sometimes I'll feel like I'm moving faster than everything else and sometimes I'll feel like I'm moving slower than everything. It doesnt happen very often, maybe once a month. It happened more frequently when I was younger. It only lasts for a few minutes and usually happens when I'm being very still and quiet...like when I'm studying.

I've told my mom about it and she said that the exact same thing used to happen to her. I dont know if it is a hereditary thing or not.

My mom is the only other person I've ever met who experiences this.

Any ideas?

Do you mean that your body is speeding up and slowing down? If that's the case it's called psychomotor (i think) agitation and retardation.

Or is it your mind that's slowing down and speeding up...kinda of like mania and depression?

It may also be a form of depersonalization/derealization. Are you an anxious person?

Then, yeah, it could be derealization or depersonalization.

I was going to say it is Anxiety or Mania! I am not therapist but that is what it could be. Yeah and check out derealizating and depersonalization.
