A few days ago i had a chest pain that was unbearable. The next day i went to the ER and they ran some tests. Turns out they dont know what i have. THey say its probably stomach acid going into my esophagus. They ran tests on me and these were my results. My white blood cell count was 3.6. Hemoglobin 17.6. Monocyte 16. Red blood cell 5.6. i thought i was done with the worrying but now that i see my white blood cell count is low im starting to freak out again. i got tested three and a half months after my possible exposure and it was negative. but this is about 30 weeks after my possible exposure, which was recieving oral sex. so my question is are these results signs of an HIV infection?

no...your symptoms are similar to acid reflux disease. You white blood count could be related to a minor infection secondary to the reflux issue. Receptive oral sex is a no risk (for HIV) encounter.

Hi i have the same thing. it started real bad after i was taking Aleve for chronic headaches. I went to ER as well i thought i was having a heart attack. they did tests WHILE i was having the pains and nothing abnormal showed. Thursday i had a heart rate of 143 and dizziness for a week that has still been going on i went back to ER lastnight i was so dizzy they did additional heart blood tests another ekg and even a cat scan (looking for stroke) and everything was negative. dizziness im having is from inner ear.Acid reflux can REALLY mess you up bad! its scary. I would think if your white cells were low your doctor would of talked to you about that.

my doctor did tell me that my WBC was low and my Monocyte was high, everything else was normal. is there a connection between high monocyte, low WBC and HIV?
