My wife and I are not pleased. We both have it, her mother has it, and all of my family struggles with seasonal allergies.

well, the good thing is he could outgrow it. Many do who have it as children. Whereas adult onset stays.

Don't make him feel like he's done something wrong, or that it's his "fault". Explain as simply as possible why he feels the way he does, and how the medicine will help him feel better. Be understanding. Little ones can get frustrated, especially since they can't express themselves very well.

I agree. Saying you "aren't pleased" makes it seem that something was "wrong"...there is nothing "wrong" with him and he didn't cause it. It just happens. Perhaps some other word would suit better....

I appreciate the insight and assure y'all that we would never use anything but kind and supportive language. We are not "pleased" with this event and circumstance, certainly not him.

I am from knoxville tn. Childrens hospital has an asthma clinic that I attend with my son. My son is 2 and he takes an inhaler every night and a singular pill. We are trying to keep his asthma under control. It seems to be helping although he hates taking the inhaler. Childrens hospital has been very helpful with us. Hang in there.
