I've been dating a guy for the last 3 months that I actually knew from back in highschool and back then he was shy, quite and withdrawn, but was apart of the popular crowd... was known for being a ladies man. At the time I found it appealing because I thought he was different from all the other guys hanging out being loud and obnoxious around the keg at parties. Well, we went our separate ways and came across each other again a few months ago and he told me during one of our conversations that during the time we were messing around way back when, that he had found his grandmother after she had heart attack and tried to resucitate her and she died on him. Well, I was like ohhh that explains the moodiness back then... so, back to present day... 3 months into this... he is normal and happy one day, and the next day he is shy, withdrawn, MOODY as all get out and is confusing the heck out of me. On any given Tuesday, he will be affectionate, attentive and happy and then we will wake up the next morning and it is like being with a different man. He will be withdrawn, quiet, snappy, won't even look me in the eye half the time. When I ask him what is wrong, he says nothing and gets even more irritated and complains about having headaches all the time. Constantly taking Alka Seltzer headache medicine. I ask him if it's me, if he is not happy and he acts like I'm stupid for asking and tells me know. I've gotten to where I'm walking on egg shells around him because I never know what mood he will be in or if I'm doing something that is setting off these bad moods. Is it possible that there is something going on here with him that is causing him to be like this or is he just a jerk. Oh yeah, he is a bit of a recluse. Not many friends, doesn't do much but watch movies and tinker with his car. I'm about the only social life that he has...that I'm aware of. Please help!

Yeah sounds like depression or worse a personality disorder but it is probably really tedius and frustrating to be near him. Maybe you should get a hiatus from him and leave him be for a while.
