I am 61 and have had tinnitus for the last 10 years or more, when it first started I went to an ear DR. who said it was probley hearing loss and gave me a hearing test, which did show loss mostly in the right ear. Since I have never been exposed to high noise levels it probley came from the US Army 1963 to 66 where I shot many of rifle rounds without ear protection, thanks Uncle Sam. I then went to a specialist who did several MRI's of my brain and found nothing.
I can hear a clock tick only in my left ear. I have many different sounds including ringing, an engine running in the distance and a toilet running when its real quiet. The ringing is always louder than anything else Im exposed to.

Anyway a couple years ago I started getting this kind of pumping pressure in both ears at the same time. It has no rythem or regularity. Last night it came on about 7pm and lasted on and off until 2am. Its like someone putting their hands over your ears, and pulling them off. The volume goes down then back up like plugging my ears and unplugging them. It doesn't hurt and is not regular or related to my pulse. I cant link it to allergies or any time of the year. I may get it for a few hours every month or 2 or 3, its very annoying. I have asked my Dr about it and he has never gave me an answer. I have noticed it a couple of times about 5 hours after I have taken a Darvecet when it was wearing off, but not every time maybe one in 10. It pulses irregularly maybe once every second or once every 2-5 sec. or once every 1/2 sec, it varies and is never steady within a second or 2.
Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe somebody knows what it is?
