View Full Version : Success in between IUI cycles??

This is my first time posting on this board and I'm hoping to find someone out there that can give me a little encouragement. My dh and I had our first failed injectible/IUI cycle last month. Because we were going on vacation I decided to wait this cycle out because I didn't want the hassle of trying to transport injectibles while camping. ;)

My question is, today is cd29 and no period yet. I'm waiting for it to start so we can get going on this next cycle. Has anyone out there had a longer than normal cycle coming off of an injectible cycle?? Usually my cycle is 25-27 days. The only other time I have been late (on a natural cycle) is when I was pg (sadly it ended in mc).

Has anyone heard of this or know someone that has had success in between injectible cycles??

Thanks in advance! :)

Well, I'm not sure; but I'd like to find out! I hope your late for a good reason. :-)

Let us know, please.

WOW, I'm in the same situation. I was wondering how the cycle ends up after IUI too. Shorter or longer than usual?

Around CD 22 I started spotting dark red blood which lasted 1-2 days. But, I'm now CD 26 and I'm usually 28-30 day cycle. I usually don't spot around that time, but it seems like every month is different.

Let us know what happens Missekay.

pinkie, did you have any cramping with it or just spotting? That could be implantation if it wasn't as heavy as AF. Good luck with that.

My cycles were always longer when I was doing IUI with clomid or injectables. Also in between those cycles. I am sure it has something to do with the hormones that are being pumped into us as well as the physical and emotional stress this puts our bodies through.

I am hoping you are late due to pregnancy - have you taken a test??? Sometimes when you are not really trying is the best time!!!

Best of luck and loads of baby dust!!

My periods were usually very normal - every 28 days - before I started infertility. But, I have found that after doing the infertility meds and IUIs, my periods come much later than they used to. When I was taking clomid, I was up to 35 day cycles. This was my first month on the follistom shots, and I am still in the 2ww period. But, you never know, you could be pregnant! :)

I guess I'll find out, too, sue. My first cycle of IUI, AF came on early (about CD 24); but I'm on progesterone and estrogen for this 2ww and so far I'm making it longer post-IUI than I did that first time. knock on wood.

It was just spotting. I'm starting to spot again, but this time it's very light brown (sorry, TMI). I'm starting to feel tenderness in tummy area, so I know AF is coming.

Missekay- are you late for a BFP reason? ;) I'm eager to hear.

I, unfortunetly, have decided to hold off on treatments until next year (Jan or Feb 07). It seems like so long to wait. Especially since we've been waiting a while already. :(
