Hi. Last week I went to the doctor with stomach pains and she thought it was just mostly constipation and put me on Zelnorm. I don't know if she actually thinks I have IBS, or just a one time constipation. She put me on Zelnorm for a month. Since taking the medicine, I have been having regular bowel movements... but they have been, well... weird. Like last week, there was blood in my stool, and I have had diarrhea.. Anyway, I'm kind of worried about the blood in the stool, etc. Has anyone who has been on Zelnorm experienced these side effects? Are they normal? Is it okay to continue taking this medicine?

I have been on Zelnorm for over a year. Zelnorm works most of the time, but it has never given me blood in my stool. If it is the bright red blood, you should see your doctor right away. Good luck
