My first IVF was last year in June. But since then I have noticed hair loss not like balding or anything but enough to notice and it is coming from the scalp when it comes out. My husband and I were wondering if perhaps it might have been the injections and all the hormones all the meds you know. Just curious if any of you have experienced that either? I have since purchased shampoo promoting hair growth and it has created new hair growth and I notice it a lot less but it is still there. let me know what you all think.

I lose at least 40 hairs a day. My doctor says it is due to hormones. Possibly an imbalance. My hairdresser lost a ton of hair when she was pregnant and while she was breastfeeding. I am certain that hormones play a role in hair loss. I have a lot of hair, so you can't tell that I'm losing it, but I am concerned that eventually it will start showing more.

See I naturally have thin hair but I used to at least have a good amount of it and now my pony tail is like pulling together a bunch of angel hair spaghetti noodles hahahhaha. I am just worried that after my upcoming second IVF that I will then not afford to loose what I was loosing you know what I mean. Hopefully my new hair growth from the shampoo will pay off in time.

That's interesting. A friend of mine gave birth last December and her already thick hair was VERY thick. And afterward (after the birth), it started falling out. The other night I noticed it didn't look near and thick as it did while she was pg. Hmmm. I think my hair doesn't feel any thinner since on stims (two cycles now) and it's fairly fine, somewhat thin anyway.

I have heard that most women while pregant actually get thicker hair, then the extra hair falls out after they give birth (obviously that's not the case for everyone though). I've never heard of any hair changes while on hormone treatments--that's kind of scary!! I can't afford to lose any hair either. It does make sense though that your hormones could affect that. Keep us posted!
