Is there any natural products for this? I haven't found anything that works & can't take hormones in any form because of migraines. IMHO this is the worst part of menopause. The rest of it is a piece of cake compared to this.
KY jelly & everything advertised for this is a joke, might as well use water. Any recommendations? Thanks.

You might want to try getting estrace compounded in a glaxal base. It can help keep the area more elastic as well and preventing some of the atrophy from progressing.

Thanks Jo, is this something that I would get at a compounding pharmacy?

I don't think I could tolerate the Estrace but I'm ready to give it another try if my dr will prescribe it. Thanks

HI Sammi:

I use the estrace every day and find it very mild. It keeps the vaginal skin very elastic and helps prevent further atrophy. I'm careful to use only a pea sized amount each time since too large an amount could cause irritation. Depending on whether you live in Canada or the States, you have to purchase a different product.

In Canada, I purchase Estradial 17B and have it compounded at a .1mg/per gram into a glaxal base. I do get it created at a compounding pharmacy. In the States, it's possible to buy the estrace ready prepared.

Depending on whether you have true atrophic vaginitis or a form that comes with problems that involve itchiness, skin splitting, irritation etc, you can also use a presription steroid ointment to get the skin under control.

Has anyone tried VagRenew? It is (supposed to be) a natural vaginal cream.

I found it online and I think I am going to go ahead and order it.

I'll report back with my findings...
