Many people havementioned that their babies slept so much after having their shots. My DS had his shots today but he hasn't been sleeping a lot. Do most babies sleep a lot the same day as their shots? I was sort of hoping that he would.

Hi there!

My ds didn't sleep any longer than normal when he had his shots. But, a friend of mine her son slept great that night!

Good luck,
s :)

every baby will react differently to shoots than others. My baby gets super cranky and sleepy when she has her shots.

Some babies get fevers, some don't react in any way. it just depends on the baby. I think it is normal that your baby has been sleepy, that is just how he reacted.

fullfire - I was saying that my ds was not sleeping more. At least not during the day for naps. I had hoped he would though. For bedtime he did sleep for 6hrs...which can be normal for him. He would have slept longer though, but I woke up totally full and leaking at 3am so I got him up to eat instead of letting him sleep longer.

My ds's first set of shots he did sleep really great that night. His next set didn't make at difference in his sleep pattern at all. I think it just depends. :)

With my DS his first set he got in the evening and slept great that night and ran a fever most of the next day so he was very sleepy until about 5:00 p.m. the next night. The second time also got them in the evening, slept good that night but the next two days was very cranky and was running a fever. Last night he got his third set and slept good last night but now today has been running a fever and very cranky again so far. One thing you cant do is expect them to react the same way each time they get them. One time they may be sleepy the next very cranky.

Ds's first set of shots he slept like a rock. Day and night. I didn't actually like it at all because I found him hard to wake up. I was paranoid about SIDS and I was scared he'd never get up. After the second set, nothing. You couldn't even tell he had them.
