I wish my boyfriend would get his out.. he snores so loud.. I've resorted to sleeping with ear plugs to sleep... he says he won't get the surgery, even though he has sleep apnea from it.

hubby had surgery for a severely deviated septum, and for the next 3 weeks, it was HEAVEN!! he was quiet, and i slept soundly...but that's bc he ws required to sleep sitting up, for that time. once he was allowed to lie down once again, snoring was back, bad as ever. summer time is better, bc between the air conditioner, and the headphones i wear ( I use 'midnight
rainshowers', to create white noise)..i can often stay in our bedroom for the night. but for the rest of the year, or when his allergies get bad (yes, he does take meds for the allergies)....my solution is to move down to the guest bedroom (or the living room, if we have guests!!)

You should remind your boyfriend that sleep apnea, if untreated, can actually cause heart problems and possibly death. It's a more serious problem than most people realize. You should also do some research about it and show him some of the horror stories about sleep apnea. It's honestly nothing to shrug off because it can cause serious problems if someone who has it just ignores it.

unfortunately I have.. I have enough trouble getting him to get a checkup let alone go through surgery..
