at the end of may my belly was in a state that i was ok with. It wasn't really flat or toned...but it didn't stick out either. Now i'm starting to get almost like a pot belly...only it's like really smooth. I go to the gym pretty often, do about 25 mins of cardio, stretch and maybe do some crunches, and then do a lil weight training. But my belly just seems to be getting bigger!!! :( When I flex my abs it feels like they're closer to my skin... as if idk...something else is going on behind or i don't know! I know that my diet is pretty bad but i'm struggling with changing it because i'm a boredom eater and can't seem to occupy my time. Also...carbs and sugars just KILL me I love them so much!
UGH! Any suggestions on what I can do to get rid of my new friend or at least make it less noticable. I feel so bloated and my tummy just feels so... solid I guess. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

I'm having the same problem! Its truely aggravating cause i was exercising like crazy since i've had the time lately and then my belly started doing exaclty like you mentioned, but from reading other posts i thought maybe it was just from doing ab exercises that push out the little tummy fat that i have since the muscles grew. but i really dont know anymore....

Clean up diet first and foremost. While you may have a little less fat on top of the skin, you may still have excess visceral fat (internal, around the organs) as well as some distention from poor diet and poor digestion, hence the bloaty feeling. You have to change your eating habits if you want to see a change in your body. If you want to help kill sugar cravings, try a 1 week "detox" of no starches or sugars - kind of like Atkins, without pigging out on bacon and butter ;). It will get your blood sugar levels on an even keel and it blunts cravings HUGELY, but you really have to stick to it. If you need to nibble when you're bored, keep low cal snacks on hand like sugarfree Jello, celery or carrot sticks, frozen blueberries, sugar free popcicles, fat free string cheese and such. Drinking a lot of water also helps curb hunger and nibbling tendencies. Ice cold is best. If you really stick to eating clean for a couple weeks, I can almost gaurantee that you'll look and feel leaner.

i think that i might have a solution for part of the problem. I was going to the gym all the time and doing crunches and stuff. and i also noticed that i stomach was doing the same thing. And i never could get abs no matter how many crunches that i did.
And this is part of what you might be doing wrong. Whenever you do crunches, its possible that you are pushing outward when crunching. Whenever you do crunches concentrate on sucking your belly button to the floor. keep your stomach tight and suck in, instead of pushing out whenever you do crunches. When i changed my routine, it helped me tremendously. And now for the first time, i have abs. :)

Too true!! That was definitely true for me.. I know especially when I used to do a lot of lower ab workouts, my lower abs got hard but would stick out.. now I kinda keep my abs tight and it has helped them. Unfortunately now my stomach is kind of having the opposite problem!! It's hard but not as smooth looking so for this doing more cardio always helps me.. and changing up my diet.
