Hello Doctors and friends,

I am having trouble hearing from my left year since 2 days. There is a wax blockage inside which I can feel while eating or deep exhaling. I have put the wax dissolving liquid in my ears for last 2 days.(twice a day). But I am afraid of using cotton buds as it hurts a little bit. I want to try irrigating them, so that it comes out naturally. How to irrigate ears at home? What is the proper method? Shall I try an ear syring from my local drug shop?

Regards,
AJO

Hi There,

The best thing to do is to go to a doctor and have the doctor wash your earwax out for you. Doctor's are professionals and they more experienced at it. I had Wax build up in my ears many times, and I always had the doctor wash my ears out for me.

That's what I would do.

You need an ENT to properly do it. They use a vacuum thing to suck all the wax out of your ear. Don't use Qtips, it just packs the wax and makes it harder to remove, and also adds cotton to the list of crap in your ears.
