Ive been snakebitten the last 3 years when my Aciphex quit working ive played the PPI,game since than nothing really helping.
Anyways I have a question does anyone get in a groove of just eating the same stuff everyday,I mean,im so bad its even the Brand's have to be right otherwise it throws me off. After ahwile that particular food will cause me acid bad a few times, and im scared to eat that again.Over the years ive gone through this right now even canned pears give me heartburn yet i ate them daily for months. Now I cant touch them,in a way I feel like im making the Gerd worse yet i dont want to start a flareup, plus i have bad anxiety..
Anybody else ever gone through this its horrible I have like 5 things im eating right now,and its a cycle...I want to break it..i eat very very bland i wonder if thats bad over time to??
Sorry for long post had to get that out lol..

I am scared to eat anything thats not runny because I feel like I am choking after I eat anything solid! I have lost over 2 stones in four and a half months!
I have now got a problem with fear of choking because of the huge amount of mucous stuck in my throat...where do I go with that problem?? If it werent for supplemt drinks from the dietician I'd be on about 400 calories a day!

I worry about my diet because I cannot eat any fruits or juice. I cannot eat most veggies. I eat only a few things over & over again. I know I am not healthy. I do drink a nutritional drink everyday sometimes twice a day. My reflux is always with me 24/7. I do know if I eat bad food I would be in much worse shape. You know I don't even care about giving up junk food anymore I just want to be able to eat healthy!
I ate boiled chix the other day and my reflux went out of control.

I have had Gerd for over 6 years. I take Prevacid once a day and a Motility Drug 4 times a day. I eat pretty much what I want but my secret is that I only eat small amounts. I never eat past 7 p.m. because I will experience reflux while sleeping if I do.
I know what you mean about certain foods creating problems. Don't you find that most of the foods that precipitate reflux are usually full of starch or are sugar based? Chocolate and caffiene are bad for me if I overdo it. Even foods like corn on the cob, baked potato and fresh bread bring on reflux . Sugar. Starch. I'm ok if I eat a bit of each. Perhaps you could try eating more small meals and slowly increase the variety of foods you've been missing.
Being overweight is a definite contributor to GERD. I lost 34 lbs last year and I was able to use less medication. Now I've gained back about 10 lbs and notice an increase in reflux. Of course I gain in my belly area. So now I'm back up on meds. Got to loose that weight!!
Hope all this helps.

Everytime after I eat. The tummy played up. If I leave my tummy empty, I'll feel great but it's not allow to do that. Of course, I lost my weight. My tummy is blowing up like a six months pregnant! Plain water will cause me heartburn as well! What can I eat and drink?

How much weight you lost Pika and in how long? I have been advised to try anything and everything with regards food. Process of elimination...find whats best for you and keep a diary etc. I beleive it is bad to eat fats , dairy products which is annoying if you are trying to regain some weight.

Ya. My tummy blows up too! I find sugars/starches are responsible. If I stick to fresh vegetables and protein (the healthy eating format!) my stomach doesn't enlarge as bad. It's frustrating because you never know what you can wear from one hour to the next! I don't think reflux causes it however. Maybe we're allergic to wheat or something.
What do you think?

Having a baby? I'm kidding!
Mainly gas? Fat? Liver blow up? Water? Could be allergic too. What things that I allergic would cause that? Too many question mark!

I find that bread (because it is a form of sugar) flares up my reflux. I was fine today until around mid afternoon when I had a bran muffin. About 1/2 hour later I was feeling uncomfortable. My tummy still hasn't blown up but it will. I find if I'm active, as I was today with doing housework, my abdomen doesn't swell as bad. I had to take a Prevacid though for the reflux. Of course wandering around and bending over while cleaning doesn't help.
No, Pika, not pregnant! Just looks like it! LOL
Yes, Outlaw, we all handle food a different way. My intake creates havoc and weight increase, while my skinny mini sister can eat as much and whatever she wants, with no reflux! Not fair.
