For a couple of months now I've been getting these sharp pains in my ear. It's not always the same ear but it's never both at the same time. I've also been a bit dizzy when I stand up too fast. I had this weird test done where they blow air into your ear then make you follow a light with your eyes while they monitor your eye movements. They said something was defintely up and told me to get an MRI.
Does anyone know what I could expect this to be?

I'm new to the forum. I can relate to the stabbing pain in your ear. My stabbing, jabbing, pain has been going on for 3 weeks now. I can't even imagine it going into months. The pain is so excruciating, it makes me scream without wanting to. It hurts so bad. Just lasts for a few seconds, goes away and comes back sometimes within 10 seconds or so. Sometimes I get a little relief from taking ibuprophen. I don't know what else to do. I've heard that going to just any doctor will not usually help because they don't really see any infection and say that the ear looks normal. The pain has to come from somewhere. If anyone out there has had a similar problem could you post any help you might have gotten from someone.
