I have been using clear eyes for years now, about once or twice a day. My eyes have always been red and irritated and I find that this is the only way that I can really get them to be almost white. I was just wondering what the dangers are of using clear eyes frequently. So far I have had no problems. I went to an eye doctor about it and he pretty much dodged the question so I guess he thought that it wasn't a big deal.

Stop using them for a while and you will see - you'll most likely get a re-bound effect and your eyes will become redder. Also I think its effectiveness can decrease over time. Drops like this and visine (get the red out drops) can cause such a powerful constriction of the blood vessels that they then become unable to contract on their own.

Have you never tried to find out why your eyes are always red and irritated? What you are doing is just masking the problem. See a doc and find out if theres something causing this.

What's causing it probably is just "Dry Eye". What about switching brands once in a while? They say prescription Restasis causes burning, so that wouldn't really be any help, right?

Only causes some people burning sensation - others find it a great help.

I also have been using clear eyes for years. I then suffered from pinguecula. I believe a combination of sunlight and clear eyes caused my eyes to have these growths. I tried many times to stop relying on Clear Eyes, but my eyes became so red and irritated that I couldn't bear the thought of not using them. I have just had surgery to remove the pinguecula. It has been just over 2 weeks and I will never use clear eyes ever again. I have spoken to eye doctors about this. You should try to cease using them. It will take approximately 3 weeks for your eyes to become clear again. They will get worse before they get better. If they are still irritated after this, you definately have another eye problem that would need to be addressed. Maybe blepharitis, chronic conjunctivitis, dry eye etc.
Good Luck
