Is there any test i can take that dosnt take 3-6 months for conclusive results?

Hi joe

The way i took it from other people on here that 8 weeks is pretty much conclusive. but i may be wrong. hopefully someone here can confirm that for you.

Just dont beat yourself up over it. i did for a long time and i actually made myself sick.
And also from what i understand its harder for man to get infected from a woman than it is for a women to get it from a man. hope this helps

hey thanks for the reply. its hard to not beat yourself up sometimes,espically when you know better. But thats life right. I really just wanna get tested and get on with my life, i really hate the idea of putting it on hold for 3 months. Which i know i dont have to do, but this will constantly be in the back of my mind. I heard something about DNA testing that gives quicker results?Im not sure to be honest

I have read the PCR is very effective in the early weeks?? Not sure if that helps?? If I am wrong someone please correct me-C

thanks for the reply.ive looked into the pcr, says its reliable at 28 days after exposure.Not sure if thats true, im gonna get ahold of my doc this week and see if i can have some light shed on this. Anyone know anything more on pcr tests,where to get them and what not?thanks

PCR is a viral load test, and has to be ordered by a doctor. LabCorp and Quest both have these available. It is considered 96% accurate at 28 days.
