Hi all,

Can anyone recommend an over the counter product that helps regulated the frequency a person goes to the loo.

I have had problems with IBS for some time now, i have recently had blood tests to count out any other digestive problems; they all came back clear. I shall return to the doctor next week to explore the options, but from my last appointment he implied that if all other conditions are ruled out and if they are all clear then it is IBS.

I am sometimes required to work on site as part of my job; i am finding myself in a difficult position lately. I am scared to put myself in a position where there a no toilets. Sorry to discuss toilet happits, but i find myself in the loo 7-8 times a day, this is really getting me down. On some occasions there is a real urgency; i would hate to be caught short on site where there are no loos. I think the fact that i am stressed about being caught short only makes it worse.

Can anyone recommend something i can take to reduce the number of times i go to the loo?

thanks
Paul

Definitely try a fibre supplement like Metamucil. I take one heaping teaspoon of the powder every morning. It hasn't made things perfect but it's made things much more manageable. I no longer have loose movements every single day like I used to. I use the regular smooth texture, not the sugar free because I have problems with sugar substitutes.
