My 2 1/2 yr old daughter for the past 4 months has had boil like sores on her body. When I take her to the doctor he says that they are just staph infection. he gives me antbitioc precsription and advises that i give her baths with antibacterial soap. i have done this but I notice that once her antibotics are done about maybe a month later she gets another one. He also diagnosed her with eczema and stated that she would be prone to these boil like things. They are very painful for her until they burst and ooze all the pus like stuff. They tend to scab up and then leave a dark scar which eventually fades. Her pediatrician stated she would outgrow it and to just give her oatmeal baths when her skins gets red and itchy from the eczema. I was wondering if anyone else has experience this as well. Thanks for any advice.

You might try to do a search on Hidradenitis suppurativa. It may help. Good luck!

You need to get these tested for staph to see if she has a resistant form of it or not. Next time she gets one have the doctor culture it.

I used to get boils as a child very often, mostly on my back and on my buttocks.
I have not so fond memories of my mom cleaning them (trying to sqeeze the "eye" out so it would heal quicker) and keeping them as clean as is possible. I outgrew it when I was about 12 (maybe the hormones in puberty have something to do with it?) isn't uncommon buit darn painful!

she will need the right kind of antibiotic to kill it and it it comes back later on she may need a different form of treatment to take care of it. Staph can colonize in the nose causing you to be a carrier of the bacteria which would make her prone to repeat infections. An infectious diesease specialist knows how to get rid of that if she does have a resistant form of staph.
