Hi all  --

I was curious regarding Addison's and obesity. I've read some of the posts and most of the Addison's patients are thin. I am short, heavy and had a cortisol test on May 3rd that showed a 2.10 reading (ranges 5-25). I did, however, have a fasting cortisol and ACTH test today--no results yet. Can you have Addison's and be obese? I look like a semi-Cushing's patient and wasn't sure. Also, how reliable are the fasting cortisol and ACTH tests? If these appear abnormal, what is the next testing--cortisol tests(AM, PM, etc.) and a saliva test? I'm pretty new to this, so if anyone can share their experiences, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!! :)

Yes, but I don't know the mechanism.
