Hi all. I've posted here a few times in the past. Just had a question. I've been wanting to donate blood. I always said that after I got all my blood tests back, and they were good, I'd give back and donate blood. About six years ago, I got into a very promiscuos stage in my life. I was with over 30 girls, all unprotected. I've been tested 3 times since........... all negative. I've been monagamus with 1 relationship for 5 years. 3 months ago, we went our seperate ways, I did another HIV test just be sure, after ending a relationship. I did that "home Access" test. The result was negative. I'm quite sure I obviously don't have HIV, But for some reason I feel conflicted about donating blood since I haven't been that safe in my past, and want to know for sure that I'm not going to put anyone else at risk if I donate. Any suggestions? Do I have the greenlight to donate?
Chris, Cali, and Lost spirit, Just wanna say Hi, and hope all is well you.
........God bless........Shannon

Hello!!! :)

Was that last test (the Home Access) at leaset 3 months after your last unprotected experience? I'm not sure, because it sounds like you tested immediately after you ended your relationship (and I'm not sure if you were always protected with your girlfriend).

But, as far as those experiences from 6 years ago, you are fine and would be able to donate with no problems.

Honestly, they ask you all the pertenent questions before you donate and, as long as you answer them honestly (as I, of course, know you will), you can donate with complete peace of mind.

It's good to see you again,
Cali
