DS had a texture issues when he was about the same age. But only with things that were a little chunky -- HATED hamburger and I had to grind up regular food very very finely. He ate a lot of stage 2 meats, mac & cheese, veggies, fruits, mixed stuff -- but if I tried to give him a stage 3 he'd act like he had a hairball. I stuck with what worked -- yogurt, stage 1 & 2 baby. Even after he was a year old he still had issues with some foods -- ground meat, toast...

DS likes fruits, but he also likes saltier things. I would doctor up baby food, adding a dash of salt and a little butter. But another thing I would do is grind up pasta dishes, casseroles -- he loved chicken & dumplings, chicken ala king, lassagna, tuna casserole. I got a baby food grinder and ground up whatever we were eating, but baby food was sooo convenient in a pinch. His daycare ground up everything. Not sure what they use, but they have 4-6 babies all starting out on tablefood.
