My husband has been taking 2 different pills several times a day for several years. He's overweight and eats a lot of junk food which I think if he were to work on those bad habits, he wouldn't have to take all those pills. I think he feels as long as he takes the pills, he's fine.

People take BP meds for years, but your husband sounds stubborn. BP Meds are not a free pass to an unhealthy lifestyle. Eventully all that junk food is going to catch up with him (heart diesease, diabetes, etc) taking medication will not prevent those things. I personally would rather not take BP meds, but since my Bp is not controlled otherwise (I've lost weight + change my diet) I still have to take them.

My grandmother has been on bp meds for 18 yrs, she takes three bp meds daily. She lost weight (118 lbs), but she still needs to take bp meds for control.
