Can anyone tell me of a way to help calf muscle deterioration? I work out, stretch, do pilates and calf exercises, but nothings really helping. Is there a special treatment out there? And does this have to do with never having any surgeries?

When I was a kid, my orthopedist told my mom that my right calf would never catch up to the size of my left calf. Swimming and doing exercise has developed some muscle to my right calf. It does not appear nearly as muscular as my left side. I just have named my legs "little leg" and "big leg".

I've always had this problem. Even with my left arm. If I work out all the time, I can build muscle mass, but I will lose it quickly. The only thing that concerns me now is I just had surgery and now my leg is soooo much smaller after getting out of the cast. I'm just hoping I can regain some of my previous mass. At least get back to the way I was.

I have noted with age that my entire left side is starting to atrophy. I am 41 with L hemiplegia. My calf muscles started deteriorating after my tendon release surgery. I am now just starting to notice the muscles in my back along my spine starting to atrophy in relation to the right side. My arm, so far, seems to be holding its own for now.
