hello, i've been on here a few times, but i guess i just want to hear something that might cheer me up a little. i'm 20 yrs old and have been dealing with A LOT of feminine issues in the past 2 months. after a pap/pelvic exam last month the dr. told me i had bacterial vaginosis (BV),so i thought "no big deal". a few days later i was called back in to hear that my chlamydia test came back positive. freaked me out, but took the antibiotics and assumed i was ok. then a few days after hearing that i tested positive for chlamydia, the doc told me that i had an abnormal pap as well. she then proceeded to tell me that i also tested positive for high-risk HPV, and ordered a colposcopy to be done this coming friday. after talking with a few people, i started feeling a little better about things; until this past sunday i woke up with pains soooo bad in my pelvic area, abdominal area and legs that i couldnt walk or move. i can honestly say it is the worst pain i've ever felt in my life. after not being able to move for 3 days, i FINALLY crawled (literally) into my car and drove myself to the emergency room, only to find out that i have pelvic inflammatory disease....yay. i just feel like things cannot get any worse at this point. now i probably can't have kids, the pain i'm having is so terrible that it keeps me up all night. i guess i just needed to get my story off my chest and hope that all goes well with my colposcopy this friday.... but with my luck, i'll probably need to have surgery. i regret EVER having sex, it was NOT worth all of this pain and money--i feel so alone

it's ok!! PID is treatable and controllable. when you have pain like that it means you're having an episode of acurte PID. it's true that the more episodes you have the higher your risk of infertility is but it's not set in stone that one episode will leave you infertile. as far as chlamydia and BV, those are treatable at least!! as far as the money issue, i feel ya. but even if you only send the hospital $10 a month (whatever you can afford) they can't send you to a collection agency or sue you or anything. good luck and remember that it's time to take care of yourself.
