I have had the implanon for nearly four months, the first month of having it was fine but about a month in i have been experiencing unusual amounts of brown discharge continually, just wondering if it is to do with the implanon or is it something to worry about?
Iwas told that the implanon thickens the lining maybe it could be that doing this to me?
Implanon=the implant

You probably have not received a lot of responses because very few women have it. A common side effect is irregular bleeding, which would be what you are explaining. In the information I found said that most women have it removed within 2 years of starting it because they get tired of the irregular bleeding. That is all I can find, if you really feel as though something is wrong, you should contact your dr. Sorry I cannot be of more help.

No it is nothing to worry about. The brown colour is due to slow flowing blood which changes colour due to vaginal secretions.
The Imlanon is an excellent method of contraception and very little affects it.
If the bleeding persists you can be prescribed a short course of hormone pills which often regulates your cycle. You really need patience to wait 12 months for break through bleeding to stop. It does not do any harm and Implanon failure rate is very low.
