I started on birth control when I was 16 to pretty much stop my bleeding. I was bleeding so much and so long that I became very severly anemic and needed a blood transfusion. My periods would last around 2 months and every day would be as heavy as the next. So they put me on the patch first and told me to skip the non patch week...because they didn't want me bleeding at all. Well about a month or so into that, it stopped working, and I went back to bleeding very heavly and cramping like no other. Then they put me on the shot, which did its job...along with 30 pounds and depression, and all that jazz. So after a year or so on the shot, I just recently quit it and went on the pill. I am half way thru my second pack and all of a sudden im bleeding again..lightly..its brown then goes to red back to brown like it cant decide what its going to do. I'm also having alot of cramping. Is it that no birth control is going to work for me? I do not understand and would really hate to go back on the shot...like i wont do it. Anyone heard of pills and patches not being enough to stop a period?

It could take 3 to 4 packs of birth control pills to regulate your cycle. Hang in there!

I just realized that my mom is on her period...and when I was on the depo shot I would have breakthrus whenever she was on hers...could this be the reason for this one? I know women who are together alot tend to get theirs around the same time...I hope it goes away soon because it sucks
