I have tried to get over my depression without taking anti depressants. I don't like the idea of a medicine messing with my brain chemicals. And I would rather not be on any type of medication. But I have decided to give it a try. What do I have to lose? If my life continues on the way it's going I may decide to off myself in a few years anyway.
After resisting taking the medication I finally broke down and took a pill last night. I've been prescribed to start off on 30mg of cymbalta and then up to 60mg. If you look up any medicine online there are negative things to be found. And I found the motherload about cymbalta. So of course I am hyper aware of possible side effects. Do these side effects sound odd?
1) My head feels tingly, especially when I lay down. Hopefully this is a side effect that will go away?
2) I had trouble getting to sleep and for me going to sleep is rarely a problem.
3) I turned off my bedside light and closed my eyes, instead of seeing darkness I saw what I can only describe as if I was looking into a kaleidescope. I then opened my eyes and things looked pixellated and funhouse like. I turned my light on and my eyes adjusted and things went back to normal. So I had to sleep with my light on.
4) Possible nausea.
5) After taking the medication within 15 minutes I have to go #2.
I am concerned about rapid heartbeat and liver damage. I'm also hoping i don't see any hallucinations. Also since cymbalta is a new drug who knows what the long term effects could be.
Will these effects go away?
