My dr runs blood test on me every month. Mostly because my potassium bottoms out. she also, checks for sugar and so far it has come back normal. Still, everyone is different do please get tested anyway.

I take 1mg four times a day. I have been on it for about 15 years. I remember getting it before it went gerneric, and I believe it takes a drug 17 years before it can be sold as generic.
