I'm recently diagnosed with GERD, hiatal hernia and gall bladder was borderline (42%?) so nothing done with it. I'm on Nexium 2x day. Pain in gall bladder area has become more frequent (eating doesn't seem to matter) but still remains a dull ache, not really sharp pains to speak of. The acid reflux seems to be getting worse. It feels like whatever I eat just stays in the chest area, and I woke up the other night with acid gurgling with my breathing - lasted about an hour and I kept coughing up stomach acid - clear but nasty and burning. Now my stool (last 48 hours) is looking rather like pale yellow with tiny flecks of dark brown (almost seedy.) I'm going to call the GI guy, but just wanted to know if it's anything I should be concerned about. New to this stuff.

I have all the same problems. The hard part is finding a PPI drug that works for you. All are not created equal. I had the hernia/Gerd diagnosis in November, they put me on Protonix. Protonix is horrible, it made me much worse, a total failure. It took me almost 2 months before I could convince my HMO (Kaiser) to switch me to Prilosec. One week on Prilosec and I was much better. Not cured but much better. Some PPI's just dont work for some people. You might need to try Prevacid or anither. Dont wait like I did. Demand they find a drug that works. No time to be Mr. Nice guy.
