I am sooooo frustrated!!!!

My son has always been a good eater....at 30 inches and 24 lbs you can tell he doesn't starve :p But lately it's impossible to feed him without a production. He'll eat his bottle fine, and he loves to eat fruit and veggie puffs as well. However, when I feed him his baby food, he'll wave his amrs up and down and smack my hand away!!! He used to eat so much baby food and nowit's like he doesn't want to eat anymore :| I tried to give him his own spoon but he just throws it. Sometimes he will eat a few bites, but then he just hops up and down and waves his arms in front of him. I try to make funny sounds, and sometimes it works.....other times I'll just walk away for a few minutes, and then come back, but he still does it. I KNOW hes hungry because I feed him breakfast right in the morning and he hasn't eaten for how many hours.....

What is up with this!? Please tell me it's a phase!!!

lol Sorry for laughing but I had to. For some reason in the last couple of weeks, DS started doing the same thing during some of his meals. I can picture him doing it right now. He too used to be awesome to feed. Ate everything with no problem. All of a sudden his breakfast is like a chore for me. I have to carefully try to get the food in his mouth while he's smacking and hitting my hands the entire time. Cereal everywhere! It's the first time he eats in about 12 hours so I know he's hungry but after a few easy spoons it's like he starts playing a game. It's extremely frusterating and takes way too long! I've wondered if he just didn't care too much for his cereal because it's almost always breakfast that he's terrible.

I can't tell you why it's happening, or how to stop it but I feel your pain. DS is 9 months so I hope it's a phase! I go back to work next month and really don't have time for 45 min. breakfasts!

My DS just started to do this and he is only 3 months old! It could be 3-4 hours since his last meal, and he can be eating his fists like a mad man, but as soon as I stick the bottle in his mouth he smacks it away. Then he gets it back in his mouth and smacks it away again! It is cute, but feedings are taking a lot longer.
