How old was your baby when they really started laughing? I work hard for a giggle everyday and all I get is an "ahhhhhhh". She smiles from ear to ear, but I'd LOVE to hear her really belly-laugh.

debating 06-22-2006, 04:37 PM How old was your baby when they really started laughing? I work hard for a giggle everyday and all I get is an "ahhhhhhh". She smiles from ear to ear, but I'd LOVE to hear her really belly-laugh. skeetersquirt 06-22-2006, 04:55 PM Mikey does this. He started about a week ago. I have to lay him on the bed and really work to get him to do it by playing the "Mommy gonna' KISS the baby" game then wiggle my nose in his tummy..but he will belly laugh and it is SOOo cute! He was 3 months on the 20th. weepyone 06-22-2006, 05:20 PM isn't laughing and smiling great:D oh skeeter mikey is a lovely name what a good pick. ds laughs best from silly faces and voices and me touching noses with him whilst i go aboo boo to him he also likes touching my face too, ooh i love him so much his smiles are so heart warming and rewarding. he is also very smily and happy when i have him held in standing positions or when kicking his legs on his changing mat. he also laughs so much when he sees the scottish character in learn with me sesame on the playhouse disney channel it is the only programme we watch just for 30 mins together in the morning after his breaky:D skeetersquirt 06-22-2006, 06:02 PM isn't laughing and smiling great:D oh skeeter mikey is a lovely name what a good pick. Thanks! :D Long story about where that came from, but lets just say Mikey liked EVERYTHING when I was pregnant...hence the reason I am working out like mad now.:D Laughing is great! If I bark like a dog he scream laughs...try that! It works for him! FLAngel 06-22-2006, 06:33 PM My dd is 9 months old and I am still waiting for a proper giggle. She is a very happy girl and does lots of squeeling and other happy noises, but no full flegged laugh yet:dizzy: steph66 06-22-2006, 08:08 PM DD does this soft giggle. But she really loves the quieter squeal and when shes really excited she squeals loud!! Most of those she reserves for the ceiling fan. Which she loves and gets so excited about even when its not on! Go figure! I cant wait for her to give us a real laugh!btw she is 12 weeks Gayle0000 06-22-2006, 09:19 PM DD smiled at about 12 or 13 weeks. That's kind of late...but she was really colicky from age 4 weeks to 12 weeks. When the colic stopped, she started smiling right away. I think really good giggles happenned generally at about 4-5 months, and just got better from there. As for the big laughs...not until about 6 months old for DD. Tickling her with my hands, my hair, or anything like that really gets her going. Rubbing her belly & ribs with my nose is another winning maneuver. Anything involving our cat is a winner too. Funny little story...a couple weeks ago, I just changed DD's diaper. DH took her, and got her laughing a lot...loud and for a long time. I could hear them laughing in the other room. DH brought her back to me and said, "I had her laughing so hard, I'll bet she pee-d her new diaper". It was pretty funny. debating 06-22-2006, 09:33 PM Most of those she reserves for the ceiling fan. Which she loves and gets so excited about even when its not on! DD LOVES the cieling fan too. She doesn't squeel for it though, just smiles and "ahhhs". She squeals after a diaper change, when she's all dry and dressed. She actually LOVES being on her changing table. She's got toys up there, so when I fold laundry I put her on the table. 2fast4u 06-23-2006, 08:53 PM DS is a year old and I can count on one hand the number of belly laughs I have gotten from him. He is happy and smiles and very rarely giggles or laughs. If he does it is very short. He is a very serious guy and it is not like he is unhappy just not a laugher. I really miss that because when babies giggle and giggle it is so cute. feb06baby 06-23-2006, 11:27 PM DD is 4.5 months and will make short and quiet giggles. She will smile so big her eyes are practically closed. lol. She squeals a lot too. Still waiting on the big belly laugh though. Celestine 06-24-2006, 05:25 PM DS started giggling at about 4 months I think. Full blown laughter at 7 months. He laughs and giggles alot when he's in a good mood and he's really easy to get going. He's tickish just about from head to toe. His feet and his thighs work the best. He also thinks it's hysterical when I get him from behind and give him a big raspberry on the back of the neck. His legs go out from under him because he's laughing so hard. He already likes a little rough-housing. Gentle baby rough-housing at least. He likes when you put him over your shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Sounds mean I know but he absolutely loves it. I have a feeling his dad's going to be doing alot of wrestling when he gets bigger. :) skeetersquirt 06-24-2006, 06:55 PM . He likes when you put him over your shoulder like a sack of potatoes. . :) The nurse at the hospital had us do this to DS..she said it is an old way of relieving gas in babies...I have a picture of DS at 1 day old draped over my DH back..it was too cute! weepyone 06-25-2006, 04:38 AM yep it works for ds too he does some great burps over my shoulder lol:dizzy: |
