I am an 19 year old college student.. I have been on Nexium for 1.5 years now. I am breaking out with acne.. I have broken out with acne here and there since I was 13.. but this is the worst my acne has ever been.. and no matter what I do, I cant seem to overcome it. I here Acne is a side-effect that was lab tested for Nexium.. I am not sure if it just my hormones screwing with me, Or is it this damn Nexium..

Anyone have any skin symptoms like this?

I was on Nexium for almost 2.5 yrs-and it didn't do anything to my complexion-but have been off it for almost half a year now-and my face is at it's worst becuz of stress, a shot immune system, and out of wack nervous system...lol, not good--but just thankful to God to be alive--so anyways, prob. not the Nexium, but everyone's different-try baking soda, as a face cleaner, works good at clearing dead skin cells, I like it alot, or try egg whites-those helped my skin, wear it overnight-anyways, good luck, and stay strong!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Take care, God Bless, & always-Keep Smilen!! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Anyone having problems with it?

I have not been on Nexium but was on Prevacid which I believe is made by the same company and very similar. My face immediately broke out with the worse acne I've had in 10 years - I'm in my 30's. It took me a while to put it together. I have gone off the Prevacid, and it has taken a long time to flush out my system. I have been off it for a month and my face is slowly returning to normal, but it is still a mess. Good luck. Hope this info helps.

Yes.. thank you for your input.. Im glad you found out it was the Prevacid.. I wont try that as an alternative.. I have quit my nexium for 2 weeks now.. and I am slowly reducing my acne too.. Anyone else know a substitute for Nexium that wont give me these side-effects..
