My husband had an operation for melanoma yrs ago behind his ear, they cust all down by his throat. Now he seems to get food stuck going down & also hot coffee, feels like it won't move & sometimes throws up. They have sd it's gerd but one Dr noticed the scar & sd maybe it's scar tissue growing. Anyone ever heard of this?

I have never heard of this. I know scar tissue can grow in the throat from reflux. Have you gone to a gastro. doc. that I think would be your best bet to get an accurate answer

It doesn't seem like reflux, any meds he has taken for that haven't helped. This is the 1st Dr who noticed the scar running down the side of his neck & thought possibly it was the scar tissue inside. I'm making an appt w/him & see who he suggest to see, I think they would have to do some kind of xray. Thanks for answering.
