My brother is 28 yrs. old and is in desperate need of direction. As a child he was diagnosed with ADHD and put on ritalin. As an adult... he is a mess. Job hopping, no vehicle, no home, a son he doesn't have anything to do with but says when he(the son) grows up he will want to come live with him. Bro is intelligent where he wants to be- he can beat video games that would take me days just to understand, etc. I tried to help him with an opportunity to start a new life and he has blown it. Now his friend in TN is offering him the same thing and he is about to board a bus. Mom used to bail him out of everything but she passed away last August. I don't want to be used by him but I love him and feel like he is the only family I have left. He self medicates with pot which he will spend his last dime on. I approached him about seeing a doc and he said he doesn't want to be put on any pills??? What should I tell him about getting help???

your bro needs a wake-up call, let him learn the hard way without bailing him out. People use their "illness" as an excuse to be the way they are, they use it as their story! ADD can be cured with a proper diet, but doctors tell you it can only be cured by drugs cause that's how they make all their money.
They stuff kids full of toxins from an early age so they get sick and then need to rely on drugs to carry on basic functions which they rely on for most of their lives.

Thanks Cristina... I needed to hear that. It still doesn't take away my hurt and guilt (why, I'm not sure). He has already started his trip to TN. God, I hope he makes it this time.
