followed directions, missing the sugar pills and skipping straight to the active pills on the new pill. are there any side effects from doing this? breakthrough bleeding? spotting?

Most likely some breakthrough bleeding or spotting will happen. But not always true.

Every pill varies, that is why every time I have switched my pill my doctor has asked me if I take breaks or continuously use it. You should ask your doctor if the pill you are using is safe or good to continuosly use.
