I was just wondering, I'm looking into the Mirena and was wondering how they place it?? And if anyone that has used it, has had any funny side effects etc.. I'm trying to look into as much as I can before i make my decision. TIA

It is inserted through the cerix via a long thin plastic tube. When the tube is removed the Mirena opens out in the uterus. May have irregular bleeding at first but when it settles the periods are much lighter or absent altogether.
