My DS is 3 months old and he will NOT lay down., happily unless hs is tired..he hates it. He is just such an observant kid. If I prop him up to sit he is fine....I heard there was a cushy seat to help them sit up? Haa anyone heard of this?

He is only 3 months, but LOVES to sit up, or course not on his own .;)

The seat that they sit up in is called the Bumbo seat, it's awesome! Ds hated just laying there too, he would be frustrated becuase he couldn't move himself. Also, that play gyms are good too, have you tried that yet?

I just looked that up on the internet and that Bumbo is AWESOME! I am going to go out tomorrow and get this. DS can hold his head up and he is very rock solid.

The play gym I have is one that he has to lay on his back to play with...is this what you are talking about?

Hope you have better luck than I did.... DS HATES his Bumbo.. He loves the exersaucer, his chair, but not the stinkin' Bumbo... I try to make it as fun as I can, he just hates it!

We got the Bumbo because my 4 month old loves to be sitting up but can't on her own yet. She hated it. She would lean herself forward in it and cry. I returned it. I have found that the boppy works a lot better.

My DD is the same way. we call her the nosy one! just like her grandma LOL! Shes always been like that though. Everyone already knows that u cant hold her laying down like a baby cuz she will throw a fit unless you pick her up where she can see!! I have been thinking about buying one also but want to make sure she will like it first. She very particular about where she will go. Shes barely starting to TOLERATE her swing and shes 12 weeks. I think its worth a try! Let us know if it works! good luck!

My ds won't lie down either. It has been this way for months! He really likes his exercauser and his Jonhnny jump up! He really loves to stand while i hold and balance him. He is really into both of these things.

I am starting to think that maybe my DS would like a Johnny Jumper better. He is a very mobile little man and I can see that some of you are not happy with the Bumbo. Do you have the Jumperoo that is free standing of the one that hangs in the doorway?

I think he would love the Johnny Jump Up. My guy is very mobile too and just loves it. I got the one that goes in the doorway, it is easy to move to other rooms. I got mine at walmart for $18.

ds is almost 16 weeks he hates not being able to look around so when my back starts to break from holding him so he can look over my shoulder at everything or the baby carrier has pulled me over (not literally) i pop him in his bouncy chair and entertain him or put him in his walker as it has a little activity centre on it. ds has a bumbo he can manage maybe 2 minutes before crying i think because it sits him bolt upright he does not feel comfortable in it. he does love his door bouncer since he found out howe to bounce himself - bless his cotton socks

DD has a Bumbo too. I think I like it more than her. She will sit in it for about 10 mins and thats it. I would like to get a jumperoo but my DH would probably die if we bought any more baby products...lol

We had the jumperoo too, and I really didn't like it. Ds could care less too. It plays the same stupid song every time they even move. It's huge too, I had much better luck with the excersaucer. Skeeter- Can I send you my Jumperoo?!! lol

Don't tempt me! I am trying to find a used one and found on on another website..I have not seen one in person, but I did hear they are HUGE! Are they as big as a swing, or bigger?

I have the one the hangs from the doorway and it is really small and NO annoying music, ds loves it, and it was cheap:)
