DD is 5 and 1/2 months old. At her 4 month checkup she was 12.5 lbs (25th %ile) and 25.5 inches long (90th %ile). And she just keeps getting longer (DH is tall and skinny). So she will be long enough for a bigger car seat before she is heavy enough. It seems like it won't be long before the straps on her infant seat wont be long enough. Does anyone know what the length reccomendations are for switching car seats, and is it ok to switch before she reaches the weight limit? Thanks!

Absolutely. Some of the covertable car seats are ok to use from birth.
