View Full Version : Inflammation in right ear? Need advice please

Hi,

Recently I noticed a small inflammation at the entrance of my right ear canal. I can feel it with my finger in the ear as a little hard boil. Sometimes it feels hard and sometimes it feels soft. (Mostly after the shower it feels soft)

When it is hard I can feel the ear pain and also pain around the ear too in the back of the ear towards the upper neck and above the ear on the side of the head.
I am taking Motrin and it reduces the pain a bit.

I am getting a little pain on the throat too..(mostly external)
I am thinking it is "Ottis Externa" (Swimmer's ear) but its just my thought.
(I am used to using earbuds everyday after the shower for the past 3-4 years!!)

Did anyone experience anything similar?
I scheduled an appt with an ENT on Tuesday.

Please advice.

Thanks...
