When did your baby first start sleeping through the night? I have a 2 month+1 week old who, of course, still does not. She'll usually sleep 3-4 hours at a time, but last night she was up every 2 hours to feed. I'm wondering when this will change. I'm tired. :dizzy:

My baby slept throught the night at 3 months...9pm to around 5 am. After that we kept setting the bed time back and my baby wouls sleep later in the morning.

Now my 5 month goes to bed at 6:30pm and sleeps until 7 or 7:30 am.

Every baby is different. I have friends who had babies who slept throught the night right at the start and others still have troubles getting their babies to sleep through the night after a year old.

From what I was usually around 13 pounds babies can start sleeping through the night because by then they are suppose to be able ot hold enough food within their bellies.

The funny thing is my baby is 5 almost 6 months now and only 14 lbs... so that rule doesn't apply to me here.lol

My son, who's now 5, started sleeping through at almost exactly 3 months. My daughter, who is just shy of 2 months is starting to sleep through, but will occasionally still wake in the night. Now that I know that she can and will sleep through, I'm not so quick to jump up and feed her. She woke at 3:30 the other morning and when I went in, she had kicked her blankets off and wiggled to the very top of the crib. So I picked her up, hugged her, kissed her, soothed her for a minute and put her back down and tucked the blankets around her, and she went back down until 7am. Every baby is different though, and if you're breastfeeding I think it will still be awhile as they digest the milk quicker than formula.

My ds is 3 months old (four months next week, aww) and he just started to sleep through the night a week or so ago. He goes to bed around 8 or 9 and doesn't wake up till 630 or 730. My sister though, her baby was born four weeks early but was brought home right away and always slept through the night, from day one!

DD is almost 5 months and started sleeping through around 3.5 months. Right now she goes down at 7pm and wakes around 5:30am. After that feed she will usually go back to sleep for another hour sometimes two if I'm lucky. She occationally has nights where she wakes though. She is breastfed.

rvh802, 10 hours..wow.. if my daughter slept that long I probably wouldn't sleep anyway because I'd be checking on her all the time. :) Fortunately, I can hear her breathing through the monitor. That would help.

My baby has been sleeping through the night since he was about 1 month old, and would wake up at 4:30-6:00 am. After 4 months he would wake up at around 8-9am. Now that he is almost a year old he will go to bed and wake up around 7:30am when it is time for me to go to work and only because I wake him up. On weekends (yes he knows when its a weekend) He will slepp until 10-11 am!

I love it but it all depends on the baby.

My mothers baby began to sleep through the night when he was about 7 months old, and some nights he is still a pain
