OMG....seems like forever and a day since we had our babies huh? Just wanted to check in and see how ya'll were doing. We're pretty good here. DS is growing like a weed. He's approx. 20lbs now and has already had his first haircut. LOL. Im so glad that hes a healthy munchkin. Hes rolling over & never ever stays still. LOL. And let me tell ya he loves food. Peas & applesauce are his favs. So how is everyone coping? LOL. Still staying at home? I am, but its getting tough. I may have to go back to work a few days a week. UGH!!!!!!! I dont want to, but I'll do what I have to do. Well hope everyone is good. Hugs & kisses to all the babies!!!!!!

We're doing great! We got off the formula supplements and are back to 100% breast milk. No solids yet. I'm waiting until she can self feed. She hasn't starting rolling over yet, though she tries. She HATES tummy time, so she doesn't get much practice.

She's such a little person now, it's great! She smiles and watches everything. She's even starting to get "grabby". She loves to hold a napkin and crinkle it while I eat dinner. She also sleeps through the night, though I wish she'd do it earlier. She doesn't normally go down til 10, but I've managed to get do it earlier a few times. She's gradually going to sleep earlier and earlier, but I don't count on anything earlier then 9pm. She also doesn't nap during the day either. It's EXHAUSTING to say the least. Sometimes I just beg her to sleep. LOL. I thought it might be from the coffee I drink, so I went coffee free for a week (which was HARD.. SO HARD) and it didn't make a lick of difference, so I went back to my delicious coffee. I love coffee (having one now).

Hi Guys!!! Mikey is doing so well! I love my little man so much. I was fortunate to be able to stay at home with him..turned in my resgnation last Thursday and boss STILL calling me..hoping I will change my mind. No way~

DS is still only on breastmilk and was 3 months old on the 20th. He is 18 pounds as of last week...might be more now. He does not roll over all the way yet, but he got almost all the way over yesterday minus the shoulder he could not manuver to get him all the way there..he was face down though!

He is sleeping through the night and has been for a little over a month...it is wonderful. I am really on edge right now about SIDS..I need to quit worrying but I can't help it. Everything I have read about it, the most SIDS cases I have seen are happening around the 3-4 month mark.

Has the time not flown by! It is kind of bittersweet that we were all talking on the pregnancy boards and then BLAM...3 months later. :dizzy:

Glad to hear you are all doing well!

Heather we have esp bc I was coming on today to start a march mommie thread! LOL. We lost it somewhere in our crazy lives.

Ds is doing great! Can't believe next week he'll be four months old. He's weighing in around 15lbs (according my moms scale) and 25 inches but we will know offically on July 3rd. Hes on rice cereal since the beginning of the month, tried peas HATED THEM, then some carrots which he has enjoyed but I think I'm going to wait to start veggin when he's four months offically. He's finally sleeping through the night. He goes to bed around 8 or 9 then doesn't wake up till 630 or 730! SO NICE. Lastnight he went to bed at 630! Slept till 11 and I didn't hear him crying so my grandmother (luckly she's living with us) heard him and went and got him. I'm such a bad mommie! I knew he was going to wake up bc he went to bed SO early and I didn't hear him:( So she gave him a bottle and he went back to bed till 630. We got him a walker today (btw heather I seen little mans walker pics..SO CUTE!) and he tried so hard to move it. He got it to move alittle but his legs are not strong enough lol. He hasn't rolled over yet but he's working on it. He can get on his side! He also swam in his infant pool for the first time last weekend! It was SO exciting, he loved it. He was kicking his feet like crazy, splashing his cousin, uncle, aunt, papa and me lol. So he goes swimming about every other day now. It's been so hot here so he loves it. Right now I'm looking for a Jolly Jumper bc the way he kicks his legs he'll love it. Weds we are heading up to NY so Jr can FINALLY meet some of his other family and my friends, his "aunts" lol. I'm excited eventhough dh won't make it:(

OMG I have to tell you all this. As you know ds is on soy formula bc he couldn't tolerate other formula. Well we went to my step brother in laws birthday party the other night and my fil gave ds some CHEESE! I WAS SO MAD! I looked at him and told him "First off ART, he is NOT suppose to have cheese bc he can not have dairy, second off..he can not have that bc he could choke on it!" And the ******* had enough nerve to just roll his eyes and tell me I need to relax, he knows what good for him! UH! So I told my dh that my fil will not be seeing his grandson until he start to listen to ME! I know what is BEST FOR MY SON! God I hate him. I've never hated ANYONE BEFORE!:blob_fire :blob_fire :blob_fire :blob_fire

Well...now that I have vented, I do feel better lol. Things have been going well otherwise. Eventhough I did get in a car accident the other day but thankfully it was only me and my sister (no babies. ah!) and all the damage is done to my car. Oh and I found out someone in Louisiana stole my identity. I have no credit as it is so they didn't get anything. Though the detective thinks they might have gotten a car under my name. Super! I can't even get a car under my name lol. So I'm getting that figured out right now.

I'm glad to hear everyone and the lovely ones are doing well. I'm having a hard time with how fast my baby boy is growing up. I'll get over it, probably when I'm pregnant again! lol.:dizzy:

Jess, I hear you on the hate...

I am LIVID right now :blob_fire I've never been so angry in my life... Last nite my husbands grandfather came over for a little barbecue because he is in from out of town and has never seen the baby.. So anyways, he's a big "outdoorsy" type guy and so is DH.. Well DH just got a new pistol that his grandfather was looking at (at this point we were all outside, Elijah was in his chair enjoying the fresh air, grandad was sitting in a chair a few feet away, and DH and I were sitting in the grass).. Well I asked grandad if he was ok sitting with Elijah for a few minutes so DH and I could go and start the grill, etc... A few min later I hear the pop of the gun and my son started SCREAMING... I started screaming and ran into the back yard, grandad looked dumbfounded.. I picked Elijah up, HE HAD A HOT SHELL ON HIS ARM!! The pistol DH has is semi auto so it ejects the shells out the side after the bullet is shot (for those who don't know about guns, the shells that come out are pretty warm...).... We ran Elijah into the house and put ice on it right away, called the ER (our "on call" is the ER) who told us to leave ice on it as long as possible... It turned out being a superficial burn, just a little red spot on his arm, it doesn't even bother him now (thankgoodness)..

Ladies, I wanted to kill him.. I was crying, screaming at him.. What idiot shoots a pistol around a 3 month old?!?!?!? WHAT AN IDIOT!! I am just so thankful that he is not hurt... He won't have a scar.. and it wasn't anything serious.. Let's just say he is NOT allowed at my house for a very long time, and NOT allowed around my son!!!

Of course, now I have family peeved at me because Grandad who won't be around forever is now banned from my son... You know what, THEY CAN SHOVE IT.. He put my son in danger, and hurt him and didn't act like anything was wrong..

Anyways, he's doing wonderfully now.. I can't beleive how big my little baby is getting.. I miss my tiny little bundle that I brought home from the hospital.. This little man is my pride and joy.. No hair cuts yet, I can't bring myself to. He still has such thick, dark hair. And it's so long! It's past his little ears on the sides! He's been rolling over for a little bit now, he does it the second I lay him down! he's starting to scoot too. At first he HATED tummy time, but I think now that he can have fun during it, he loves it. Sometimes it worries me because he loves being on his tummy more than his back, but I'm always with him so I know nothing will happen.. He's gotten so loud now! He laughs and yells.. The other day he was going "wawa wawa" really loud and I joked with DH that he was already trying to say Mama.. He told me wishful thinking HA :)

Well thankyou so much for letting me vent.. it's nice to have the march mommies thread back!

OMG, I would be so MAD! :blob_fire That was just pure not thinking to shoot a gun around a 3 month old! Luckily, knock on wood, I have not had family do too much that's bad. The worst thing so far is when my sister brought her kids around my son and one of them had bronchitis....I was furious that she would put my DS in harms way...she heard it from me too! I even asked before she came over if any of them were sick and she said no!

For MY rant, I am TIRED of my DH family telling me how it was way back "when". His aunts are all in thier late 50's and 60's. They respect my wishes, but give me a hard time for not wanting them to give my DS cereal, and for people to wash thier hands, and keep thier fingers out of his mouth. I KNOW it was alot different back "then", but gheeze!

helloooo ladies
sam is 15 pounds 4 ounces and doing great he is on organic baby rice twice a day i add a little pureed apple to it for taste ds loves it we have fun when feeding him in his bouncy chair. ds sleeps till 5am and about twice a week till almost 7am.
i still have another 3 months off work yey. i have booked ds day care but he is not there all week his nanna and grandma are going to have him too. ds is spoilt rotten every friday i go out with my mom and my nan and i come home with bags full of things for him and money for his account, ds is so loved.
he is also a very happy little soul except after his last injections during some hot weather we had thankfully he is back to his bubbly self because i found those tears so stresssful.
sam has rolled over a couple of times when he was 13 weeks but not since probably because it is a chor eto keep him on his tummy any length of time.
i have to see a professor about my liver in a couple of weeks so hopefully i will have some answers about my health problems that forced prem delivery by c section, i really want to know why the problems occured and the chance of it happenening again bwecause i have been told the problems with my liver function put me high risk of still birth so i think ds may well be an only child, not that i mind too much i am extatic to have ds:)

glad you are all well and i feel for you my mil is a monster too:blob_fire

Soon2bmommy, I would have been beside myself!! I have a thing against guns, even though my husband hunts, so God help the poor soul who pulls one out in front in my daughter!! OMG, my hackles are going up justing thinking about what happened to you!

Anyway, I envy all you moms with early bedtimes. No matter what I do I just can't get her to bed before 9:30. I think it has to do with the daylight. It stays light here till 8:30. I've tried hanging black sheets in the bedroom an we still have two hurricane shutters up too, but it's still really bright in there. I think I'm going to invest in some black-out shades for our room and the nursery to see if that will help. She'll sleep through the night till about 6, and on the odd morning, 7. I woke up the other day at 6:30 and she was still asleep. It was almost disorientating to wake up, on my own, and hear SILENCE. No waking baby. It was so weird to get my bearings and realize she was still asleep. LOL

My husband and I are butting heads about time spent with her and helping me out. He works a lot, and I think it's putting a strain on our relationship, because when he is available I'm usually trying to get her to sleep, and when she is asleep we're both too exhausted to enjoy each other. Then today, a Saturday, he was gone pretty much all day, showed up at 5:30 while I was giving her a bath and wanted to help. I was thinking where you all damn day?? :blob_fire I want to pull my hair out.

I was literally shoving a sandwhich into my face (that I made with one hand) while she screamed in my arms, and he has the nerve to give me the "you don't know what I go through every day" speech. At least he can shower, brush his teeth, and pee when he needs too. I tore so many muscles bad during delivery that, well, suffusive to say, I've been known to.. um... not make it to the loo. So he can kiss my butt when he gives me the poor poor me routine!!

North - I feel you on the whole dh thing. My dh will come home with the whole "my day was so rough" routine and I'm just getting a chance to sit down for the first time of the day. He doesn't get up early anymore with the baby, doesn't feed him much anymore, changes maybe one dipar a night, IF IM LUCKY but he does play with him. Sometimes I don't think men get a clue on hard it can be sometimes to be a SAHM! They think its a vacation. Btw, my son kinda made his own bedtime. We started a nightly routine but it fizzled when he started to go to bed on his own. I have to admit, ds is a very easy child so I'm not to suprised he did this.

Amy- I can't believe what happend. I'd do the same thing you did. You did nothing wrong THATS for sure. Let his family be mad, he shouldn't have shot a gun near the baby, let alone had one around him. I'm so scared of gun my dh keeps his at his fathers house. It has a gun lock and all but I hate them. And it's funny your ds is saying "waaa waaa"! My ds when he's upset will say "ma ma ma ma" bc he'll cry and move his lips at the same time. So we now thats when he wants me..bc he's saying ma-ma you know LOL. Okay not really but it's still super cute.:D

I'm having a hard time tonight with my ds being at my parents. Guess its bc I'm not going to see my dh again till next sunday since he's going to NY to help my BIL with the rest of moving, won't be back till tuesday night then my grammie, ds and I leave weds at 3am to head to NY till saturday night! I have such bad seperation anxiety. I need help, seriously. LOL. I also need to go to bed. I hope you ladies get better. Sometimes we just need time to ourselves! Hm..that'd be nice once in a while:rolleyes:

i have to say although dh and i are still adjusting to the changes in our lives we are getting there. dh takes ds out and gives me a breather from time to time and he even sits down with me in the evenings now shock horror he used to be glued to some daft battlefield game on the p.c he is 35 but thinks he is still 18 lol. sam slept till almost 7 am again he did stir at 530 but i popped his dummy in his mouth and he must have gone straight back to sleep yey. our blackout blinds are not very good you get a gap round the edges so i am having to shut his curtains too.
dh is busy cooking for our world cup party we are having today, COME ON ENGLAND !!!!!!!! we are all patriotic even sam is wearing an england top it is sooo cute.
mj i feel it to my dh often works away the strain of no break or support for a few days can be tough, luckily the out and in laws live very close.
thank god we don't all own guns in the uk no way would my ds go near those killing machines:eek:

i feel it to my dh often works away the strain of no break or support for a few days can be tough, luckily the out and in laws live very close.

DH doesn't work away, but we own a construction company and somedays he leaves at 4am and doesn't get home till 9 or 10 at nite. So by that point he just wants to go straight to bed because he's going to be up at the same time the next day. It does get hard. A few days I've just sat in our room and cried and cried.. Thinking I feel alot like a single mom. Then I feel evil for even thinking that becuase the reason he's out working so long is so he can support our son and I. My MIL lives half an hour away but doesn't visit often at all. To make a LOOONG story short, my husband and his step dad are NOT on good terms, so she doesn't really see any of her children. She swore before this baby was born that she would be close to him and she was soooo excited, if I ever needed her she would be right over.... HA There were a few days I woke up sicker than a dog and called to see if she would mind watching DS for a little while so I could sleep. She always has some stupid excuse as to why she can't come over... DH is upset because she seems like she couldn't care less about Elijah. DH's aunt was in town for a few days and MIL and her stopped over. MIL was so fake because her sister was there watching.. It was hilarious..

It's amazing how much these little ones change our lives! But it's so worth it

AMY! OMG, that is my fil 100%!!! He said he was going to be around for my ds, was so excited about his arrival and now never comes to see him. The only time he wants to see him is when a bunch of people are around so he can act like "super grandpa". Oh please, you are far from it mister. My step MIL told me before she isn't a baby person so I knew what would come from her. But the day Jr was born, as I sat in the labor room bleeding uncontrollably, as my parents and other family members worried I wasn't going to be okay -- all my fil could do was say "I'm a grandpa, I'm a grandpa" and give two craps about me(which honestly, I didn't care, he's not invited to my funeral anyways lol). Boooy did the nalvaity wear off fast! My ds is only useful when my fil wants to show him off! UH! I HATE HIM! That man makes my blood boil. No wonder my dad, ds's papa is his favorite. He's NEVER smiled at my FIL..and hates being near him..cries anytime he holds him! I know I shouldn't encourage it, but I have to laugh when ds does it.:p :D

She has been doing this weird head twisting thing for about a week now. With my nipple in her mouth she is turning her head down into my breast, to where her face gets buried. Obviously this hurts because she doesn't let go, but mostly it makes for a long nursing session because she's not sucking while doing this. I don't get it. My nipples hurt as a result. I thought maybe she was doing it because of an ear infection, but she does it on both sides, even if I prop her up so her ears are exposed.

So then I though maybe it was thrush, since it can be painful to nurse, and my nipples are sore, but I don't know if they're sore because of her twisting them, or from thrush. She doesn't have a white tongue (which I read is a symptom).

I'm so confused. I'm reluctant to go to the pediatrician because I don't want her to end up on antibiotics for a "supposed" infection, so I thought I'd see if this seems familiar to anyone first.

It seems worse in the evenings when she gets tired, then she won't nurse, and when she does she yanks on my nipple.

What could it be?

skeetersquirt
06-30-2006, 04:57 PM
DS always turns his head into "whatever" when he is tired. The pillow, the breast, anything. I had thrush in both breasts for a while, didn't know it and DS never got a white tounge as a symptom.

I was also told that no matter what ear is infected, it hurts to suck and they will react to the pain regardless of what side it is on. I thought that DS had an ear infection, but turned out he did not. My Ped also said that normally when they have an ear infection they don't like to lie flat.

Maybe she is discovering something "new" to do with it! I am really not sure.

Sorry so vauge but maybe it would be best if you just had her checked to rule out any infections, and then watch yourself to make sure you don't get anymre symptoms of thrush before treating her for something "unknown".

06-30-2006, 05:34 PM
What symptoms of thrush would I have other then sore nipples?

skeetersquirt
06-30-2006, 05:37 PM
Well I had sore nipples, cracked and bleeding nipples. Also, when you nurse not only the nipple hurts, but it hurts in your chest wall. When you feel the "let down", it goes from the top of the breast and down, where a yeast infection pain radiates UP the chest and can affect the arms as well.

Also, they can feel warm and have red streaks running down them.

Hello ladies. Sorry that I started a thread then disapeared off the face of the planet. LOL. We decided to move. We are going from a very old home, probably made in the 20s, 900 sq. feet, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath to a 1 yr old house, 2800 sq. feet, 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. OMG!!!!!!!!!! I dont know what Im going to do with all the space. But unfortuantely it is too hot in this old house for our son. A window unit & swamp cooler arent very effective when its 115 degrees. We are very lucky to have a friend who got us into this house. Its her frined so we are paying about $600 less than whats its worth. She called us on Tuesday and asked us if we wanted to move this weekend. Then as of yesterday the guy wasnt ready soooooooooooo we decided to stay here till our 30 days are up. We will save more money anyways. So Ive been going crazy packing up and now I have to live in a house full of boxes for 3 weeks. Oh well.

AMY- I would have reacted the same way as you. We have guns. But in no way would we be shooting them around DS. Did you know there was ammo in the gun? I would have crapped my pants.:blob_fire

NORTH- DS is formula fed now, but he does the same exact thing. I know hes starving, but he moves his head all around or buries it. Maybe its just something they start doing at this age. I dont remember DD doing it but you never know what it is. Id rule out the earache and all that. Good Luck!!!!:)

TO ALL THE UK LADIES- :bouncing:Good luck today!!!!!!! GO ENGLAND!!!!!! And since I didnt get to post earlier this week, congrats on Beckhams free kick!!!!!!!
The game starts in 1/2hr. So I better get off this thing and eat breakfast. Cant miss it. Poop on Portugal!!!!!!!:p

Well gotta go. Glad that everyones babies are ok. Mine is on the bed kicking like crazy!!!!!!!!!Hes never still anymore. Oh and we start the Parents Choice formula today all the time. NO MORE ENFAMIL!!!!!! So pray that hes completely ok with it. Ive been giving it to him but not every bottle. Hes been ok so far. I will post sometime this week. Unless for some reason we DO move. LOL. Pray for my sanity too ladies.

Hugs, Heather

Its very hot here. Cant really do much. Sometimes DS is down to a diaper. And Ive been giving him cool liquids and a wet washcloth to suck on. Helps with teething too!!!!! Dont worry about him sleeping alot. They usually do that when its hot. DS has been doing that too.

Anyone have babies with mucousy poopies. DS started having em and I wonder if its the formula switch.

Well gotta go.

Hey ladies! Finally made my way back from NY lastnight. A 12 hours drive turned into a 15 hours drive because my car decided when we were in West Virgina that it wanted to die at the rest stop! Uh. But luckly AAA came and we found out we just needed a new battery! Right now I have to clean the house because dh is a slob while I'm gone! The carpet is so dirty and I'm a vacuum freak. And the kitchen hasn't been clean since I did it before we left on weds. Uh. Clean freak here and he goes and makes a mess! Bad boy LOL.

Ds did bad on the way up because I couldn't see him and he couldn't see me. So on our way down we got a baby mirror for the car and he was a happy camper staring at himself, plus he slept alot of the way. I brought two cans of formula for a four day trip and don'tca know, we run out on the way home! I was stuck giving little man water for the last four hours of trip which he wasn't happy. But man when we got home he ate up his rice cereal and a 7oz bottle! LOL. Poor little boy.

Well I'll finish writing later, I have to clean the house and get dressed before my sister gets here and of course all I want to do is relax but I have to take dh's two cousins and little sister for the night to make his daddy happy. You know screw his daddy! UH!!!!!!! I'll tell you all more about that later, lets just say my dad was about to kick his butt the other day LOL.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well:-D

Jess- How was driving in NY?? Hope you weren't near the flooding! I live smack dab in the middle of it all.. We've got the national guard, fema, red cross disaster relief.. All trying to do something to help out. So many roads are either flooded or washed away.. My neighbour doesn't have a driveway anymore! Luckily I live on a hill so we are ok. It's nuts. Although I'm so happy it's stopped raining!

It's so hott here and we don't have central air. Elijah LOVES being in front of the fan.. He goes "AAAAAAAAH" and then will laugh and laugh! Tried to catch him on video but I think he's got a switch.. Everytime he sees me grab the camera he turns his fun side off then just gives me bad looks LOL He takes after his daddy

Elijah will be 4 months soon but I don't know if I'm going to start him on solids right away. I've already been given the ok by a nurse over the phone (hmmm without looking at him? riiight) but I think I want to wait a while longer. He took very well to the rice cereal, but I stopped that awhile ago just because I didn't feel he really needed it.. Turns out he didn't, he's just as content without it..

Hope everyone is doing well! Enjoy your 4th of july weekend (for those in the states).

I wouldn't. Here's my 2 cents: humans eat solid foods with teeth. We also sit upright while we eat, and use our co-ordination to pick our food up to put it in our mouths where we chew it with those teeth. Babies don't have teeth. Nor can they sit upright. Nor do they have the co-ordination to handle the food and chew it. To me that is natures way of telling me that babies are not ready to eat solid foods.

Plus, it's not recommended that they start solids before 6 months anyway, especially if breastfed.

Blah blah blah... ;)

You know, my PED called the other day and gave me the go ahead to start solids as well, but I am choosing not too. DS will not be 4 months until the
20th and we will see then.

DS is eating SOOO much I am not sure if I can keep up with his demands. I am starting to get scared that I will have to do something soon. Cereal, formula, whatever. I was trying not to do any of that. He is eating 5-6 8 ounce bottles a day..and he sleeps through the night so he is eating this in a 14 hour period. I am not sure I can keep up anymore. I use to have 6-8 (8) ounce bottles in the fridge at all times and now I can only stay a few pumps ahead of him. I have 4 in there right now and he is asleep for the night so I am going to try and pump at least one more before going to bed. I guess I am going to just see how it goes, but I may have to do something.

Well ds had his four month check up today! He is up to 14lbs and 13oz! He is also 26 inches long -- holy crap! LOL. Hes in the 90% for his height. I got the go ahead to start his veggies and fruit. So I gave him sweet potatos and he loved them. Not alot though, got to watch for allegies ya know. He's a healthy little boy and growing like crazy. I can't believe he is already growing out of his 3 to 6 pjs! He's getting to long. I feel like I should just buy 12 months clothes so he'll fit length wise LOL.

Amy-Ny was okay and I'm never going back. Only went to see family and friends but I don't miss it. We did see the flooding and it was pretty bad. I'm glad though you are okay! It's crazy to see all those roads underneath water.

I'm currently watching my dh cousins and my sil. They've been good. They don't want to go back to my fil house so they begged to stay another night LOL. Hm..guess they loved me:-D I guess my mil and fil are having relastionship problems (not suprising) and I dont' think it's going to last very long. My FIL is to controling and my mil won't take that crap!! Oh, my fil called while I was on vacation and he had the nerve to call my parents house looking for me eventhough he KNEW I was in NY! My dad was like "He is soo lucky I didn't answer because I would have told him where to go, you do NOT tell my daughter what to do." My inlaws still won't tell us why they called. Hm...to bad I wasn't around to run his errands bc he can't get off his lazy butt! Uh. He angers me.

Well I'm going to go relax with the kids then off to bed when dh gets home. I'm still very tired from the trip -- Jr is too. HE got his shots today and is doing awesome actually. No crying, just sleepy! Thankfully lol.

Glad to hear everyone is doing great and Happy Fourth Of July Tomorrow! I'm going to watch fireworks at the waterfront, thats it! Big hugs and kisses to the babies!!!!!!

ds is now 16 pounds and 25 and a half inches at 17 weeks how is this comparing to your little ones?

ds is struggling with our hot weather here at the moment and i am dreading friday he has his 4 month injections, last time at 3 months he had a bad weekend the tears nearly drove me insane:dizzy:

ds is having 2 feeds of pureed fruit a day he is loving it it is a good way to get prunes in him to help his bowels i am a sly mommy lol. we were doing nappy off time this morning and i was lying next to him on the maternity mat (don't know if you have these they are a bit like bit incontinance pads) and we were reading nursery rhymes and he just pulled a funny face i said have you done a little wee wee , no he had finally after 8 weeks done a poop on his own with out me having to encourage him with feet over his head yey thanks to the rhyme pease pudding lol.

do your little ones like to stand? ds goes mad if he does not get stood up regularly he is such a nosey one lol. he is also sitting supported by pillows he had been practising his crunches so he prefers sitting now although he still does a fair bit of lying down to.

MIKEY ROLLED OVER!!!:D :D :D He went from back to tummy today!!! I was so happy!! He is 16 weeks old and is now 19 pounds! What a big boy! He is still only on breast milk only and we are planning on starting rice cereal this month. The Ped gave me the go ahead to start now, but I want to wait a little longer on that.

He is drinking over 45 ounces of EBM a day and I am suprised I can keep up with it! I am melting away. I eat like a horse and I am STILL losing weight.

Mikey absolutley loves to sit up. He also does crunches to try and sit up and got all he way up and over the other day.

We also go to the pool alot. He loves to go swimming and has a little suit to wear!

Oh congrats skeeter on your ds rolling over! My ds is trying, he almost did the other day but got scared and turned on to his back LOL. It was cute though. Atleast he sleeping on his side more now. He goes from side to side while lying on the floor playing.

weepyone- My son has been having trouble going poop lately so my dr said to give him juicey juice and it seem to soften it. The prunes working well for your ds? If so, I want to give them to my ds, I feel bad -- he tries to go and it screams bc it hurts him so bad. Yesterday was better, he just cried alittle and it came out. I feel horrible when he is in pain pooping:0(

Okay I feel like the worlds worst mother! This morning I got up to give ds his bottle (around 5am) and there was crazy ants on the counter because I put out posion they will eat and take back to the nest. So I sprayed the counter with some ant spray and not thinking it got on ds dirty bottles that were in the sink. I washed them down this morning and had them soak but I'm scared he'll still get posion off them. Do you think they are okay? It wasn't alot but I'm so scared. I wasn't even thinking until AFTER I did it. I was half awake and trying to get those nasty things off my counter! Uh. Bad mommie award here:rolleyes:

Ok, about the pooping thing..you may want to try and "take his temperature". I had to do this with DS a few times and let me tell you, it BLEW out like a cannon. Sick I know, but t worked great! :)

As far as the bottles. maybe you might want to steam or boil them just to be on the safe side? I probably would.

Elijah rolled over twice a few weeks ago and hasn't since. So I don't know if it was just a fluke or what.. I can't beleive he's going to be 4 months in 9 days! He doesn't have his 4 month checkup though until the 25th.. I'm starting to get disgusted with how busy his ped office is. I have been thinking of switching but with our insurance we only have a small handful of drs' available and the other one I was thinking of, we saw in the hospital as he was the one that came in each day to do the ped rounds in the L&D wing.. He's a JERK! Very very rude and cold and I don't want that. I don't know I guess we will see. His Ped. is such a sweet lady and I love the nurses (for the most part:rolleyes: )..

weepy - I gave ds juicy juice and it works wonders! He went lastnight I'm guessing while he was sleeping and didn't strain or anything. No crying! I was so excited. I mean I've never been so happy over a poopy diaper before!! He's getting two ounces everyday so I can keep him regular. I feel so much better now. Btw, I did try prunes (both juice and fruit) and he loved the juice but he HATED the fruit itself. Plus the juice didn't work for him. I was about to do the "temp" thing with him. But that would dh job:-D

Amy- I wouldn't go to a peds office that only has one dr who is VERY busy. You should be able to get in around the same time your ds was born each month. My ds was born March 1st and every visit I go either the 1st of the 4th. I'd find a different office, if all possible. Multi peds office are great. We have five in mine but I've only ever seen three. I'm guessing bc the other two work in the sick child's side. Plus if your dr isn't very nice, I wouldn't want someone like that to see my child, specially if they fall ill. They can be SO uncaring! Good luck sweetie and I hope you either find a different office or smack some sense into your ds dr LOL. Oh and I bet ds will roll over again. It's so fun to see them do that..I'm still patiently waiting. My niece rolls all over the place as it is. She'll be six months the 21st and she's already trying to crawl! But then again my sister and I both walked at 8 and 9 months so I'm not suprised.

But my mom and dad are taking ds next weekend overnight and dh and I plan on going on a hot date. Okay well dinner and a movie maybe lol. Btw WIC is a program for mothers and infants. They give you vouchers for free formula, milk, cheese, eggs, cereal and juice. It's great! Most mothers and pregnant women can get approved for it. Here's a question for you guys... have you done birth announcements and/or thank-you cards for baby gifts? I haven't and my SIL and MIL are harassing my husband about it.

The way I see it is, if someone is important enough to get a birth announcement, then chances are they already know she's born!! I just think that's a ridiculous waste of time, but cutos to those who do it. Not for me.

As for thank-you cards, I've been slowly plugging away at them when I have the chance. I have a lot, about 30 more to write out. I'm sorry, but I have a new baby, and I don't want to be concerned with thank-you cards. I've spoken to every single person who gave us a gift, thanked them, sent pictures of their gifts being used, etc. It's not like they don't know I'm grateful for the gift. Again, why waste the time, energy, and money?

I just think things like that are so impractical. I just don't get them. Further more, what pisses me off is that my MIL and SIL think I have all this spare time. For cripes sakes, if it's important to them, why don't they come on over and help me?! Some days I barely get to take a shower. Sorry, but if I have a few minutes to myself I don't want to write out thank-cards.

North- I did my birth annoucments when ds was first born, since he slept alot. I sent out my thank you cards when I was on bedrest. Anything after ds was born, no one got a card LOL. I hear you on barely being able to get a shower in! Sometimes I feel like I go weeks without one..eventhough I don't! And my FIL is the same way thinking I have ALL the time in the world. Okay first off, the store is 15 mins away, you are another 30 mins away and I have a baby to put to bed. So I told him no and he got mad and hung up on me LOL. I guess he hates that I don't drop everything, including his GRANDSON, for him! Too bad.

I feel that way sometimes too, but by the time I dragged everything out she would probably be awake, and I'd be stuck with a table full of crap that would just sit around till I cleared it away for dinner. LOL

On another note, Ava is making it really difficult to wait till 6 months for solids. She reaches for everything, makes little chewing motions, and drools like a fountain when we eat. I held my fork in front of her tonight just to see what she would do and she opened her mouth up wide. She knows what to do!

I *almost* made her some organic apple sauce tonight but changed my mind. I equate it to a kid wanting Mac Donald's. Just because they want it and will eat it, doesn't mean it's good for them. We'll see how long that lasts. LOL

Well, I suppose I should go write some thank you cards while I have the chance.

I really wish my dh wanted "us time". Once the baby is sleeping, it becomes HIS time and he plays video games (oh wait thats most of the time). I get really annoyed bc he works so much and all I want to do is spend time with him and ds when he's around. I'm about to throw the damn game system out the window! It's like his love affair. Sometimes I just get so depressed thinking he doesn't like to spend time with me because I'm not to physically touchy feely like I use to be. Plus I'm cranky all the time bc my iron has been so low, can't afford the iron pills my dr gave me so I just don't care to be bothered. if your dd is hungry she is hungry. all babies are different you just need to respond to her needs and cues which makes you a good mother not a bad one if you don't follow guidelines. remember guidelines are just that they are guidelines not fixed rules.

sam is 18 weeks now omg, he is 16 pounds 2 and 1/2 ounces his weight gain is slowing down despite eating purees twice a day and having 4 7 ounce bottles. apparantly she tells me he is tall at 25 and a half inches and he is a good weight for his height.

She's hungry, but it's nothing a boob can't do. ;) I really believe, health wise, that she's better off on breast milk for the first 6 months. Food is just so much harder to digest for little babies, plus, it's just not needed. Breast milk is far more complete then anything I could make. And, I'm not looking forward to solid food poopies. :p I also don't want to jeopardize my milk supply since getting it back after formula feeding. If I give her food she'll spend less time at the breast. I think I wanted to do it for my own curiosity, which is the wrong reason.

Awe, your boobs didn't let your DS down! He got colostrum, and that stuff really is like liquid gold! At least you're healthy now though, I remember being really scared FOR you when I read your birth story. You wouldn't be of much use, boobs or no boobs, if you weren't healthy. I bet it must be really hard to mourn a breastfeeding relationship. I can't say I know how you feel, but I think I have an idea after all the troubles we went through. But you must be doing something right to have a happy and healthy little (big!) guy. ;)

Have you tried relactating now that you're healthy(ier) again? I was surprised how common, and successful, it can be! When I had my low supply problems I thought I was one day away from my milk drying up, but I was able to bring it back. When I sought help and started attended La Leche Meetings I actually met a woman who was lactating and breastfeeding an adopted baby! It was AMAZING!

It's pretty simple, really. All you do is stimulate your breasts like you would to get your milk to come in after you gift birth. For myself I had to pump every two hours and/or after every feeding at the breast. I also used an "SNS" (supplemental nursing system) that was basically a tube taped to my breast that had formula in it so when Ava nursed she stimulated my breast and got nourishment. I found that the reason she wasn't happy on the breast was because she wasn't getting enough, so that helped, plus the stimulation helped increase my supply.

Ava's almost 17 weeks. She'll be 4 months old in a week and half. :dizzy: It's amazing how big she's getting. She's also LOOOOONG like your guy. She's 25 inches too. She has to wear some 9 month old clothes!

Does Sam like to stand up? Ava's always trying to stand in my lap.

Amy - I'd love to be having sex but it just hurts so much. It's like I'm a born again virgin and even when I lost my virginity it didn't hurt this much, not even close! (LOL I know TMI!). I'll talk to my dh about switching LOL! JK!

North - I personally regret never breastfeeding. I never got my milk for some god awful reason so I didn't get too. I still mourn over it because I want to with my second child and I feel my ds will be upset bc he didn't get that "closeness" with mommy. Uh. Btw, my ds LOVES to stand. I put him in his walker and he could be there all day. Everytime he stands on my lap I say "I'm the king of the world". Hmm..maybe he's getting a big head from it. Also today ds started to do the "monkey dance". I jump him around on my lab, making a monkey sounds and he'll put his hands in the air and bends his knees. It gets him going. It's so funny to see these little angels develop and how their personality is developing. Ava is long! My ds is 24 1/2 inches!! He's fitting into some 6 to 9 month onies bc he's so long. Looks like us ladies might just have TALL children on our hands.

Awe, I'm so sorry. (((hugs))) Did you by any chance supplement with formula while "waiting" for your milk to come in? This is a common mistake. My milk took 6 days to come in and I never supplemented once. It's actually quite common, and normal, for a baby to loose as much as 10% of their birth weight while waiting for your milk to come in. Many people make the mistake of giving them formula thinking they are hungry. The CONSTANT, and I mean constant, nursing of colostrum is what will bring your milk in. Plus, they're stomachs are SO delicate that they really only should have colostrum for the first few days, it's what helps pass all the meconium. And then BAM, I woke up one morning and it was litterally shooting out in streams. I couldn't believe it. She born early Tuesday morning, and my milk didn't come in until the following Monday.

But, I had a lot of BAD advice in the begining and made the mistake of getting so worked up with weight gain that I let my pediatrician bully me into giving formula when she didn't need it. That's when things went south, but luckily I got a lot of good support through LLL to know that we were doing well despite what the ped says.

She's now been formula free for 4 weeks (tomorrow). 4 months is still young enough to try breastfeeding again. Have you tried to see if he'll latch on? Even if you don't make milk it's a great source of comfort and closeness.

Does Sam like to stand up? Ava's always trying to stand in my lap.

you bet he does he walks too if i hold his hands above his haead and walk behind him - does that make sense? i had to get a walker as at 16 pounds holding him upright all day is impossible he does a short ten minute play session in there he really explores the buttons and toys on the tray in front of him. he also has a door bouncer. he has been invited to a birthday party syperhero theme dh wants to make him a superman costume:rolleyes: men. i said why doesn't he just wear his like spiderman t shirt instead but no dh is excited like a child lol.

i did miss the loss of b/f bond which is why when we hug we hug in the b/f position it really soothes him especially when he is over tired. i am not planning to retry b/f now because i am back to work soon and i think we are doing pretty good despite not b/f - i know you will say it is not as good which i know but i think now we are running smoothly togethe rthings are going great and we are still happy. omg i can hear dh singing bob the builder theme tune to sam lol. i think sam helps nick relive his childhood not that he needs any help in that department lol.

clothes sizing varies so greatly doesn't it. sam is 25 ands 1/2 inches and is still in 3-6 months clothes although not for long i don't think. he has a full wardrobe ready for his 6-9 months clothes my mom keeps him stocked up he already has some clothes for 1 - 1 1/2 years lol - true.

Hi Guys! Hope everyone's doing well. Mikey LOVES to stand as well! I have been standing him up ever since he was born...he was a strong little thing, and now he loves it! he always tries to stand up on my lap and when I DO stand him up he stiffens his legs so I can't sit him down! LOL:D

He is also 25 inches long. I hope he gets height from someone other then me. I am 5' 3" and my dh is 5' 10". We have a LOT of 6' 4"s in our family though so you never know. He is already 19 pounds.

He goes for his 4 month shots on the 24th. He will BE 4 months on the 20th! Where has the time gone? It was SUCH a hard decision to become a SAHM, but now that I see how fast he is growing, i am glad I did!

It was SUCH a hard decision to become a SAHM, but now that I see how fast he is growing, i am glad I did!

When my dh told me just to stay home with ds I was overjoyed! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I made him say it over and over again LOL. It is a great joy. I love spending every waking moment with my child and watching him grow, instead of someone else. I do understand those who can not afford or choose not too! If we couldn't afford it, I'd be working right now. But god has blessed us with the ability to pay the bills and live comfortably.

North - when I did try to nurse him at the hospital, he got NOTHING out of my breast, not even colostrum. The nurses were suprised but they told me some women just don't anything. Right after I had ds my breast shrunk right down, I was fitting into my bra with no problem. Hopefully I will with my second child. Right now when I rock ds to sleep, I hold him close to my chest, he loves it. It's our closeness and I wouldn't give it up for anything. Oh and yes at the hossy they gave him formula w. my permission. He's on soy so I'm thinking he might have been on that with or without breast milk. I had an allergy to my mothers breast milk when I was younger so I think he might have had the same problem. And I was thinking, two more months and ava will be eating solids, right? You are strong woman to keep going with the breastfeeding. Way To Go!!!

Thank-you MJ, it's one of the hardest things I've ever done. It makes pregnancy seem like a walk in the park, and I didn't think that would be possible!!

I think Ava's length comes from her body, because the sleeves are short, the body is snug, and legs are too long. LOL. If I put her in 3 month clothes I can't get her legs in and out to change her diapers. She's got daddy's loooong torso.

Skeeter, Ava does the same thing with her legs. It drives me nuts some times. She'll be stiff as a bord and and when I go to sit her down she ends up on her back with her legs straight out. She thinks it's hilarious. Oh, speaking of hilarious, I'm starting to get some REAL laughs from her. They are SOOOOOO cute. I have no idea what prompted me to do it, but I squeeze her cheeks with her fists and make this raspberry farting noise and she giggles like crazy. I never thought in a million years I'd have so much fun trying to look like a dork. :D

I'm also a stay at home mom. I've only left her alone twice, both times for only a couple of hours. I'm in awe of women who pump and work, I have no idea how they do it. We took her to our 4 wheel drive club meeting last night. I had so many people come up to me at the end and tell me they didn't even know we had a baby with us. She was happy sitting on the table playing with napkins and watching the guy behind me eat pizza. She's a little Italian alright, drooling for a pizza pie!!

i am glad my son is a great baby too, he rarely cries and there is always a reason so i meet his need a nd he is fine again i am also lucky he has always slept well he is soooo good to me. i think it is to pay me back for when he tortured me in pregnancy lol. everyone comments on how he is such a happy smiling baby which is great ilove that he is sociable he takes after me and dh

ok he rarely cries but i think he is starting to teethe he is 18 weeks. i can see a little ulcer like thing on his gum, about 2 or 3 times a day he gets really upset as if in pain, i rub teething gel on him for a few seconds and not long after he settles. i am trying to get him to bite a teething ring but he would rather bite his hands. thankfully he is still sleeping through at night. i hate to see ds so much in pain with those naughty toothy pegs coming through. anyone else having similar issues at the moment?

Looks like we all have easy babies! I always get comments from people how calm ds is. He cries when he's hungry and tired, thats it. Maybe it's the month of March? LOL. Idk, my gf mother told me it's because both dh and I have a calm temperment. Okay, she's never seen me on one of my crazy rages! LOL.

weepy - my ds has been teething for a while and I can see where one is starting to come in, but it doesn't seem to be bothering him at all. I'm lucky so far. I think if he has my tolerance for pain, teething will be a breeze with him! I read some babies cry in pain and some don't even notice.

North - I get ds laughing all the time. I eat his toes and he cracks up laughing!! Isn't soooo cute? I just love it!! I give ds raseberries on his belly but he still doesn't know what to think of them. Though if I eat his belly, he laughs!

Quick question, is anyone else having trouble with dh putting the baby down for a nap or bed? We rock ds for naps and bed and he has only let dh rock him TWICE. I even had to get out of bed this morning to rock him for his morning nap bc he wouldn't let dh do it. Just curious ladies!!

Hi ladies!!!! Seems like forever since I posted. We moved last week so its been very hectic. I thank God everyday tho for this new home. Its going to hit around 108 this weekend & Im so thankful to finally have central air. We only had a window unit & a swamp cooler in our other house. Every one seems to be adjusting well. Our border collie tho is wishing she had her big ol back yard back. :( Poor girl. The back yard wont be done till Sept. But shes ok as long as she goes to the front. DS seems to really like rolling around on the floors here. No more hard wood floors. Im sooooooo glad that he gets to crawl on carpet. He is such a busy boy as of late. Rolling, trying to sit completely up in his swing. Even went up on a knee the other day. My MIL & FIL saw him the first time & I didnt believe them. But he did it again a few more times. My little boy is growing up too fast. LOL. He had his 4 month checkup and shots on Tuesday. He cried at shot #3. LOL. But he was a real trooper. Hes been a tad bit fussy these past few days. Poor little guy. Dont know if its from the shots or the teeth. The doc said probably within the month the way they feel. So we will see. I feel so bad for him some times. He wants his whole fist in his mouth all the time. He has about 7 teethers and they are only good for as long as they can stay cold. LOL. Then they get tossed. LOL. DS weighs 20 lbs. 4 oz. & is 26 3/4 in. long. Hes in size 6-9 mon. UGH!!!!!! I have so many clothes that hes out grown. Its pathetic. LOL. So glad to see that everyones babies are growing well & thriving. We are very blessed arent we. Its so wonderful being a Mommy. :D

Well ladies, take care & I will check in when I get a chance. Hugs to you & all the babies.

Hey mommies.. I posted the other day, quite a long post, then I got on here after work and realized that it didn't actually post..

Anyways, how is everyone? Looks like alot of babies are starting the teething process. I've been wondering if Elijah is starting.. He's not been his usual happy self all the time. Weepy, I saw you post something about ulcer like things on the gum.. I just have a quick question.. Elijah, where the bottom two teeth would be, are very white under the gum, and I can feel nub like things, not sharp yet though. Just, bumps? Maybe that's the best way to describe it. But also, a little bit down from that, he has 2 white bubble like things. But they aren't bubbles. AAAH I know confusing right? lol Just curious if anyone elses little one had this..

I miss my happy little man. I got so used to no crying etc that now I don't know what to do with myself. And he's gotten to the point that he thinks he's such a big boy that I can't hold him in the cradle hold. He gets MAD :blob_fire He HAS to either be sitting up, or standing up. And he's obsessed with tummy time now too. At first he hated it, now he can't get enough. He's been rocking alot on his hands and knees, I wish he would just go! But it seems so young. I had a sheet of developmental "guidelines" but I'm sure where it has hidden itself. Wondering when most babies actually do start crawling.

Amy, my son has the same thing. Infact my niece did and her first tooth came in at the bottom front. SO cute when she smiles you can see it since it's popped up so much! About the crawling, my niece will be 6 months the 21st and crawled for the first time today - atleast we think she did. She was sleeping on my sister's bed (had TONS of pillows and blankets around her since thats the only place she will nap) and crawled right off the bed! She's okay though, cried alittle and began gigglin'. My mom went to get her out of her crib later on and she was on all fours LOL. You know, they say most babies don't start till 8 months but ALL babies are different. My ds just rolled over today from tummy to back. He also was trying to figure out how to crawl but he was trying to move with his belly LOL. He moved is walker atleast a good foot today in the livingroom, on his own! It's amazing the things little babies can do.

ktmom- all babies develop differently. My son is 14lbs 13oz and 26 inches long! He looks SO skinny and is in the 25% for his age in weight but 90% for his height. My ped told me he's perfect where he is at. My hubby and I are both tall, I'm 5'7" 1/2 and hubby is almost 6' so no suprise on length!! I read your other thread and I'd have her tested, just in case. You never know, there could be an underlying problem or she's just a skinny little one!!

Ok, I heard a new one tonight. My husband's great Aunt was over (she's 80) and told me that babies get sore from being held TOO much (as she was hinting for me to put her in the exercauser). Yeah, 'cause dangling from her crotch in a cheap fabric seat would feel SOOOO much better.

I cut her some slack though, she's old. I humored her. I feel so proud of myself for my biting my tongue, but now I have to go ice it down cause I clamped on it all night long. LOL

Maybe she meant well. I know my ds gets so mad if I don't put him down once in a while. I can always well when he needs to be let loose. He was a little irritated at being held yesterday so I put him in his bouncy seat on the boat dock and I swam with dh for over a hour in peace! It was wonderful. I also know that ds gets sore under his arms if he is being held like that for a long time, mainly from sh since his hands are so big. IDK, maybe that is what she meant? :p

haha you girls are funny.
The thought of the little ones being so independant at four months is funny. Ds loves his floor time but there are days were he just loved to be held -- all day long. Today happens to one of those days.

Oh and I was thinking this morning while feeding ds..it's so funny on how I read up on all those things about what to do and not to do with a newborn. ie. cover with a blanket unattended and never heating bottle in microwave and I have to giggle to myself thinking I was going to strictly follow those rules! My gosh, the things those books tell the first time mommies what is right and wrong.

My gosh, the things those books tell the first time mommies what is right and wrong.

No kidding, huh? I have a list of stuff that I started not doing but have now relaxed on. LOL.

Weepy, just remember that crawling and being on the floor without assistance is GOOD for babies. My FIL is a chiro and my husband is a nuturopath, and they're always giving me looks when I let Ava stand up. Crawling for a long time before walking helps develop cross lateral co-ordination, which is good for reading skills. Plus, crawling for a long time helps build muscles needed for walking. Walking too soon, or standing too often (such as with baby walkers) can actually prohibit growth because it puts strain on their legs before they're ready.

I let Ava stand occasionally in my lap, but I don't use anything that lets her stand before she's ready. I'm sort of weird like that. I don't prop her up either. When she's ready to sit up, she will.

Quick questions, I'm going to be posting this on the main board too but my ds hasn't rolled over yet. Do you think that is kinda odd since he's almost five months old (aug 1st!). Just wondering if it's just me or anyone else?

Lol North, I know what you mean about having to see it yourself to make it "official"...

I met my mother and youngest sister out of town on Friday nite for a "girls nite out" and at the hotel she freaked out squeeling, "oooh Amy come out here, Elijah just rolled over for the first time!"... Um Mom he's been rolling over for awhile now......... Oh no, He's too young, this must be the first time  Of course, she "knows everything" but does she have to be idiotic too?

I'm really at my wits end about her and her views on my son... I understand she loves him and he's her first grandbaby, but some things she does/says really really piss me off!!! When we first got to the hotel, we carried up all bags etc... She sat down and asked to hold him, and right away shoved her finger in his mouth to feel his teeth.. Without washing her hands... Let me tell you I was LIVID, she had checked into the hotel, touched all her bags, touched keys, touched the room key which I'm sure was disgusting, and who the heck knows what else.. Then puts her fingers in my sons mouth! Why can't she just take my word for it that his teeth are breaking the gums? UGH

Sorry, needed to vent.. I figured I'd stop there before I alienate anyone. LOL

I was ready to hear the "blah blah start the solids blah blah" speech, but surprisingly his ped said that.. Although many people start at 4 months, I am going to recomend not to start until 6, but just like anything, this is your choice.

I was sure she was going to tell me to start now. Looks like I didn't give my pediatrician enough credit lol.

Well, about a week ago we were doing tummy time, and I had to put Elijah in his pack and play so I could use the restroom.... I came back and he was in the sitting position, but leaning forward very far.   I wanted to know how on earth he did that!! I mean he loves sitting up but... I sat for almost an hour staring at him (trying to send him telepathic messages to do it again LOL ) but nothing.. Just layed there, laughed, and rolled..... So I guess we'll see if he does it again. I was just incredably shocked!

yep sam sits with support too. when lying down he does crunches as if he is trying to sit up, he just has to be upright, if my ds does not walk early like his mommy did it will be a miracle.

how is the talking going? ds keeps saying gee gee and g sounding words. when he talks i say so tell mommy a story and every so often i say well i never did that really happen and other things to encourage him. we read a story properly in the morning and again after his bath, oh and he also says something that sounds a bit like "again" he obviously is not really saying this lol. oh and today i was waving at him and he was waving back i think it was not a concious effort by him but it looked so cute i can't wait till he waves properly. i am trying to coach him to clap his hands but he has none of it lol.

god it feels like my ds is SO behind. He hasn't rolled over and loves to sit and stand up but doesn't try to sit up from a laying position.

Should I be worried?

DS sits with support too, what I meant though was, i walked out of the room, came back in and he was sitting up by himself, although not very well... But I keep wondering how on earth he did that...

As for the talking, he says mama alot, but I know it's just making noises... He doesn't say it in response to me, although it's cute when he cries sometimes he'll throw a few mama's inthere... and it's not a "maamaamaa" It's plain mama... His aunt heard him the other weekend and she almost had a heartattack. lol He says b words, d words, l words.... Just sounds though

LOL My ds says mama when he's crying too. He has a tooth breaking through so of course when I'm holding him and trying to comfort him he's crying "mamamamama". The other night it was so bad I was crying with him. He is also starting to make "b" and other sounds in there too, it's funny.

I've also been under alot of stress, it's even leading to nightmares. Lovely. Money, weight and sex. Hm, funny mix huh? Money, not enough of, weight sick of NOT losing any and sex, can't have bc it's STILL hurts wicked bad. See I need the sex to help the stress. Uh. LOL. So needless to say, I haven't been the most pleaseant person. Plus throw in a crying baby who is teething and has nights were he won't sleep so I stay up with him bc he won't let dh cuddle him! Oh well, it all we get better eventually, I have to keep telling myself that.

I'm still waiting for ds to roll over. Btw way weepy, he is 5 months aug 1st. He goes from side to side and he still hasn't. I'm waiting but I'm getting worried he won't ever do it. He loves his tummy time. He started to reach out for objects when he's on his tummy now, it was so neat to see that! So him and my niece play on their tummies together, except she kinda rolls around and over him LOL. Yesterday she rolled to him and ds gave her a kiss on the cheek, it was a kodak moment:-D

Glad to hear the babies are doing well! Seems like time if flying by!! Big hug and kisses to all the babies. Keep well mommies:-D

Wow!! Did he have something, like a mobile, to pull himself up with? Ava does crunches when laying down, like she's trying to sit up. She can pretty much sit unassisted if I balance her properly with her legs. She'll stay like that for a good minute or so, then she plops over. She thinks it's s funny.

She's also making a desperate attempt to start crawling, which results in a face plant and lots of tears of frustration. I thought 4 months was early for crawling?

Even when I change her diaper she is trying to roll over and get her butt in the air so she can crawl. She can actually scoot pretty good, usually by pushing herself along on her belly by pushing with her feet, but it's not being able to get up on her hands that has her frustrated. She seems consumed by it, which is why I suspect she is so anti-sling at moment. She hates being confined, she's only happy sprawled out on the floor where she can roll around and practice her maneuvers. LOL.

I dug out her umbrella stroller today, which is just a really light weight simple stroller that doesn't recline or anything (for anybody who doesn't know what they are) and put her in it and wheeled her around the house. We have two dogs but one is the hospital, so the older, crankier dog has had a lot of one-on-one time, and he LOVED chasing us around with the stroller barking like mad. Ava LOVES her puppies, and she was SQUEALING as we were zooming around the island in the kitchen with Rhino trailing us. It was so funny.

She smiles at them when they walk up to her, and if they turn around and go in the opposite direction she gets mad. They're gunna be in trouble when she starts crawling, she's gunna follow them EVERYWHERE. The one that's in the hospital is officially Ava's dog. She does not go anywhere without the baby, and when she fusses she comes and gets me. Or when we have people over she stays at my feet and guards her baby. So cute.

She got into my husbands prescription strength ibuprofen and at about 3000mg's, which is extremely toxic. She started bleeding internally, so when I saw blood I rushed her to the vet. We didn't know what was wrong at first, then I found the bottle chewed up under the bed while I was vacuuming. So, she spent last night in the hospital with them running tests to make sure she didn't damage her liver or kidney's. My husband is actually on his way over there now to pick her up. I can't wait to see her!!

Oh my goodness North, at first when I started reading that, I thought you meant Ava got the Ibuprofen! :dizzy: Scared me there! Sounds like our little ones (besides not being the same sex) are the same! No Elijah didn't have anything in his pack and play with him. he's been scooting quite a bit too and gets so mad that he can't push up too well with his arms. He's too wobbly.. Also, he hates being confined. He's actually gotten to the point though that he won't let me cradle hold him, or snuggle tight (only in the early mornings is that one allowed) :nono: I started crying the other day because he acts like such a big boy. I miss having a "baby" baby.

I had to add too... We have two dogs right now. And they are Elijah's best friends! We have a big belgian shephard, and a little mini sheltie. The Belgian is sooo protective of him.
