I am 6 months post partum with my wonderful daughter, last month I got my first period after delivering, it was very heavy, as expected. 3 dys after my period ended it started again. For the next 2.5 weeks I was spotting lightly and or heavy daily. Last week flow picked up again, very heavy. Anyways I went to dr.s had lots of tests and ultra sounds done. I got the results yesterday and I have a very thick lining in my uterus. I now have to see a specialist.
I am very worried as I would love more children. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem after pregnancy and what your outcome was? And why this would happen? Any input would be appreciated, I tried google but came up empty handed. Thanks.

wanna hear an even worse story. I just had my baby in May, and started my period in June right. June firstish. Well Im still on my period and It wont stop. So far a month straight. Im pretty miserable about it and never had my period this long. I have called the doctor and they also stated having an un-usual period lasting up to a month is normal. Also normal to re-start your period. Heck I probably did start mine and didnt realize it and it restarted again. My suggestion to you since your loosing a lot of blood is do what I did. Go to your local drug store and buy some Iron Pills. Loosing all that blood will cause your Iron Levels to go down. Also take your prenatal pills still. Although I dont take mine. Actually I will start today and see if I can finally get off this long dragging period.
I bled for 4 weeks after I gave birth, then it stopped for a week, and came back for another week. I'm on Birth control so I get it regularly, now, despite breastfeeding.

I had a very heavy first FEW periods after delivering ds. It was a mix of crazy hormones too! I would give it a few more days if your worried. I bled for 2 months after ds was born too! It's amazing how much your body can lose!

I just had an u/s and trans-vaginal on Friday because I've had my period for a little over a month. They saw what they thought was placenta tissue and I was put on medication and if that doesn't help to get rid of it I have to have a D&C. My midwife said that the first couple of periods usually are heavier and longer than normal, but that going on three weeks to a month (or longer) is really not good.
