My husband's doctor put him on 54MG of Concerta 7 weeks ago and after a couple of days, he was off the couch and doing things around the house.

He went back for his checkup and RX 3 weeks ago and the doctor didn't have time to see him even though he had made an appointment the month before, so, a PA came in to see him ,my husband can't stand him, he's a retired army officer and he worked for the DEA in Washington.

If I have a question or things I need to discuss with my doctor and I ask him, he'll say, you'll have to discuss that with Dr S the next time you come in.

I had to see him once and I didn't like him period, even though I had asked to see my doctor only, and the next time I went he came in and I told him I wanted my doctor, then I had to wait 2 hours for her.

Sorry to get off the subject of Concerta. My husband is now showing angry out bursts and he used to be the kind and gentle. He's in my face everyday now and the look in his eyes scare me.

Do you know if he can just stop taking it without coming off of it slowly?

I'm trying to find a new doctor but it takes time to get an appointment.

My son went off concerta without any problems. If it's causing him to have problems, just take him off.

My youngest DD was on concerta and had anger issues when taking it. her dr just told me to stop giving it to her. We went in a week later and she prescribed something else for her to take during school.

if he has been taking it a long time i.e 6-months to a year it might be a bit unpleasant to stop, but i stopped cold turkey and nothing bad happened.. I think you said 7 weeks he should be fine, but always hear what your doctor has to say about it
