I am new to this site and I am not going through what alot of you are going through with AI & IFV yet.I just really need people to talk with that understands what I am going through. I am 25 and my DH 27 We have been TTC for almost 6yrs I have a 6 yr old son from a previous relationship that my DH has adopted. Dh had a SA done and it showed low motility after we got the results We did manage to get pregnant a 1 1/2 years ago and I had a MC at 14 weeks. My OB/GYN referred me to an RE in Jan. 06 AF has always been regular 32-36 days so they did blood work put me on Clomid and Provera told us to do this for 6 months and we would try IVF we really felt hopefull at that point we was going to have help. Since then they took me off clomid and provera because they found out my prolactin levels was really high they thaught I might have a tumor around the putoritory gland so I have done the MRI and all is clear. I am on a medication to lower my prolactin levels I had blood work done again and my levels are back to normal. So now we are where we started 6 months ago. They told us to try again for another 6 months if I am not pregnant by Dec. that I come back to them and they do all the beginning blood work again and then they might put me back on clomid again. This might all be normal I am just kinda aggrivated because we have been trying for so long and it seems like we are getting no where just going in circles. I am really looking for friends in here that understands what i am going through and can offer any insight.

I'm sorry to hear of your struggle. You have come to the right place to find support. We're all dealing with similar situations (no two situations are alike, but we all seem to be able to relate to each other). Has your husband been thoroughly checked out by a specialist (a urologist is best)? Our family doctor wasn't able to find the reason for our fertility problems, but the urologist was able to figure lots of things out with specialized testing.
Fertility problems are about 50/50 male/female factor, so it's essential to know everything you can about your husband's sperm and reporductive ability (varicocelese, etc.).

I think it sounds hopeful that you were able to conceive with dh, even if it ended in m/c (sorry to hear that). I can certainly understand the "running in circles." If it isn't one thing, it's another. I'm sure you'll find many women here have experienced that.

I hope you find the support and hope you need to carry on and KEEP TRYING!!

Thanks for all the support already it feels really good to have other people to talk with. My husband has seen a urologist and all is good they said . so all we can do is wait and hope now.

Glad to hear everything went well at the Urologist. They say after a year obviously you need to see a fertility Doctor. If you have reached the end of your rope with the "whole trying thing" Then get going with IUI's or IVF. I mean if you tell them that its time for that they will take your money. So since everything seems to be going well and you just had all the tests and stuff to prove that why not talk to a fertility Doctor about trying an IUI. I know the frustration that you are feeling. But it sounds to me that your husbands on board with getting help. See the reason why we did not get help after a year of trying was cause my husband was in a dream world and thought oh its just taking longer than expected bla bla so my waiting was trying to get my husband to were he needed to be to seek help. Good luck to you I know it is a hard process but we will all get there one day.

I know that you said your husband has seen a urologist and had tests, but do you know if they did a DNA fragmentation test? It's not a standard test (you have to pay extra) but it's really important. Sperm with fragmented DNA can fertilize eggs, but the resulting pregnancies either don't take or end in miscarriage. This test is often overlooked.

Thanks CHJH I am assuming they have not done that test because I don't know anything about it and I would know because we are paying for everything. I will call his dr tommorrow and find out for sure again Thank you for the advice.
As to doing IVF and IUI I have asked about doing them and my doctor seems to think we need to try for another 6 months he says he feels real confident that I will get preg. now he seems to think the whole reason I haven't before is because of my high prolactin levels( they was really high I was lactating) sorry to much info :) We are still talking about our next step we might try for the next 6 months and save some more money and then if I'm not preg. we will have some money saved to go IVF or IUI. Thank you everyone for all the response It is really conforting to have people that understand. I am from a really small community and no one really understands not even family.again Thank you so much
