I have a question about hair loss. I'm 18 and over the past three months my forehead seems bigger around the temples, but I can't really tell if I have lost hair. I haven't seen any hair on my pillow or in my drain, but still my forehead seems bigger than before. I can tell because there is a freckle that used to be not very visable, but I can see it clearly now. There is baldness on my dad's side of the family but the men that went bald didn't loose their hair until 28. Could this be hormonal or something? How can I tell if it is hair loss?

It could be hormonal. You might wanna go to a doctor and get it checked out.
I suggest you pay close attention to how much hair you lose on a daily basis (the average is about 50-100 per day).
If it's not more than that than maybe you're just being paranoid.
Either way, get it checked out.
Oh, and hair loss is passed onto men from their mothers' side of the family... So I doubt that your father's side of the family has much to do with the hair loss (if you actually are experiencing that).
Good luck!

Virtually all male hair loss is hormonal. Dihiydrotestosterone causes male pattern baldness. You should also distinguish between normal temporal recession and the beginning of male pattern baldness. Between the age of 18-29 95% of men will go from a straight teenage hairline to more of an M shape with temporal recession. It doesn't mean you will go on to experience male pattern baldness, at least not for a while according to the genetics you mentioned on your fathers' side.
Also it's a myth that hairloss comes from the mothers' side. Hairloss is like most other genetic traits it can come from your mother or father. In fact According to an Australian study it looks like the father is by far the most important determing factor when it comes to baldness. The men in the study were either bald or balding , 82% of those men had a father that was bald. In my experience this holds true. Virtually every man i've known that was bald or balding had a bald father
