Hello,

I was taking on packet of Citricul at night
for 10 days with no relief. I then went to 2 packets one at night and one in the morning.

I have had had BM every morning this week. It must be working because I useally only was able to go 1 or 2 times a week and had hard dry stools.

My question is, when I wake up in the morning
my stoumach is flat but as the days goes on
It gets distended and bloated. I thouhgt sinced I was moving my bowels in the the morning and talking the extra does of Citruel this would alleviatethe problem.

Any thoughts. Do I need something along with
the Citrucel (ie, colace?) or should I take two doses at night.

Any input would be much apprteciated.

Thank you,
David

As you mihgt have discovered by now, BMs are a matter of habit. It is natural to have one in the morning because the night is long and things like breakfast are the stimulant to give the urge. But it is also habit. It seems that you get a build up of wind etc during the day which then gets to the point that you have to release in the morning. You might try to change that cycle. Try resisting going in the morning but keeping your fluids up and aim to go midday. You might find that going midday might suit you better. At least you are less likely to be bloated in the afternoon. But that is not to say that you will not be bloated in the morning. If that does not work, try changing your diet to avoid gassy foods and drinking more water. Maybe that way when you have a BM in the morning you will clean the system out enough so that you have no trouble during the day. Regards.

You may want to try added enzyme tablets. I am finding that this works for me to assist in gas release. Give it a week (it took 2 days before I saw a difference).

You may also need to alter your diet some and possibly change your bowel movement habits - it's all trial and error.

What do you mean by added enzyme tablets, giupset? Regards

Hey Sam,
We all need and produce digestive enzymes. Some of us don't produce a sufficient amount. Enzymes help in digestion which comes from our GI tract and pancreas to my knowledge. I have purchased "Digest Support" by Natrol which contains Protease I & II (which help break down proteins), Amylase, Cellulase, Lactase, Lipase, Maltase, Sucrase, and Alpha Galactosidase (which is what Beano is made of). I also bought "Super Enzymes" which contains Pancreatin supplying Amylase, Protease, and Lipase; Papain, Cellulase, Ox Bile Extract, Pepsine Enzymes, Bromelain, Papaya Powder, and more Bromelain.

This has definitely made a difference. I am now trying Omegazyme for the past 2 days and have noticed that the other two together work much better than Omegazyme (which is expensive). It's best to take this before a meal. When I don't (I take it 10 minutes prior to a meal or after my meal), it still makes a big difference in the digestion process. Normally I am bloated and miserable for at least four hours or more after eating. Now, I'm not bloated for that long as gas is expelled which is a HUGH relief!
