I take birth control because I have always had very irregular periods and sometimes it wouldnt even start at all on its own unless I took the BC However I was curios to know if you happened to get pregnant while on Birth Control would your period still start or would it not appear? I know this might be a difficult question but why I ask is that I just had a baby in March and I got on Birth Control now but had unprtotected sex two weeks after starting the pill and dont know if I gave the pill enough time to kick in (I know how dumb) any info is appreciated...

hey denise,
i think it could go either way as far as having a period if you're pregnant on birth control is concerned. a friend of mine fell pregnant on the pill and had 4 periods before she found out she was pregnant and stopped taking it, but someone else i know got pregnant on it and straight away missed the period they were meant to have in their pill free week. other people i know have just spotted. the important thing to remember is that the bleding you get on the pill is caused by hormones and is not a true period, so it is possible.
as for how long the pill takes to work when you start taking it, ive heard different things.some people say 7 days, others say 3 weeks. if you're worried i would go to your doctors or take a test

For all pills it usually is 7 Days after the start of the first pill.
